In a desperate attempt to seek medical attention, a homeless Oregon man named Timothy Dean Alsip held up a Bank of America for just $1 so he could be arrested and see a doctor while behind bars.  The 50-year-old allegedly walked into a Bank of America just outside of Portland around 10 a.m. on Friday, August 23rd, and calmly handed a note to one of the employees that read, "This is a hold up.  Give me a dollar." The staff complied and alerted police to Alsip's odd robbery attempt.  He allegedly sat down in the bank lobby and patiently waited for police to arrive and take him to jail.  Alsip didn't try to resist as he was cuffed and charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree theft.  He revealed to his arresting officers that he only did what he did so he could seek medical attention, with jail being his only option to do so.   Due to Timothy only holding up the bank for $1 to seek medical attention and the fact that he has no previous criminal record, the ro

Unfortunately, Layzie Bone is no longer interested in making music as a group. In a lengthy tweet from Layzie, he explained his decision to leave the group. Alexsandra Wright, the woman who blew the lid off her affair with Beyonce's father Matthew Knowles, apologized for sleeping with Matthew, which led to a three-year-old son. The affair also broke up the 31-year marriage between Matthew and Tina Knowles, and Alexsandra detailed the situation in a public statement to Sandra Rose.  "It is with a heavy heart we must head back to Superior Court to continue the fight for the rights of my son Nixon Knowles, who has proven to be Mathew Knowles' biological son. The latest controversy within the United States legal system involves the case of former teacher Stacey Dean Rambold.  Rambold, who was 49 when the crimes regarding the case against him began, was sentenced officially to only 30 days in jail.   Back in 2008, Rambold was a teacher at Billings Senior High School when he began to have an intimate relationship with a 14-year-old student.  He wound up having intercourse with the young girl and the school eventually found out. He resigned from his position and was charged with three counts of sexual intercourse without consent. Tragically, the girl wound up committing suicide three years later just weeks shy of her 17th birthday. It's believed that the legal proceedings, large amounts of grief,  emotional distress, and embarrassment caused from the trauma of sleeping with Rambold led to her suicide. Yesterday, news broke about Lamar Odom's alleged issues with drugs and the effect it's had on his marriage with Khloe. His drug of choice wasn't yet clear, but according to TMZ, they've figured it out. Odom's reportedly been struggling with an addiction to crack cocaine for at least two years, and the drug use is allegedly on the rise. Sources told TMZ that Lamar's drug use had hit an all-time high before he entered rehab last August, but was able to kick the habit for the full basketball season. Once the season ended again, Lamar "started again with a bang." Khloe threw Odom out of the house recently for being uncooperative during a Kardashian family intervention, and it's extremely unclear what the future holds for Lamar Odom. Fans of hardware keyboards have at least one reason to keep rooting for Motorola's Droid line, and these leaked pics suggest it will continue on. Posted on Weibo, these supposed Droid 5 pics show a QWERTY slider that seeming drops the capacitive buttons of its predecessors, and brings wireless charging, NFC and a "shockproof" water / dust resistant design. The laser cut 5-row keyboard we appreciated on the Droid 4 appears to be intact, along with a screen in the 4.3-inch to 4.5-inch range. The conveniently placed Verizon 4G LTE logos also places it as a higher-end companion to the just-announced LG Enact as Android options for fans of hardware keyboards. Engadget

Waiting for the Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker HD before picking up a Wii U? You're in luck -- the company seems to be prepping a bundle specifically for Hylian-minded buyers. NeoGAF users have salvaged an image of the special edition console from a trailer Nintendo posted to its YouTube channel and then immediately pulled. The video, which showed off the game's "hero mode" difficulty setting, teased a black Wii U gamepad decorated a golden Triforce and other Zelda inspired accents. The leak doesn't say much else about the hardware, but it's probably safe to assume that the black console matches the 32GB internals of the standard deluxe edition. So, Ma$e is back again? The former Bad Boy Records star performed at OVO Fest recently, and it looks like he isn't stopping there. The tracklist for 2 Chainz upcoming album "Based On A T.R.U. Story 2: Me Time" leaked this week, and Ma$e is set to make an appearance. According to the tracklist, Ma$e will assist 2 Chainz on a song called "Beautiful Pain" with R&B singer Lloyd appearing as well. Back in early August, Drake gushed over his interest in Ma$e. "Funny enough, me and Ma$e have just been talking about what the future holds, about what he wants to do and anything is possible man," Drake told RapFix. Kendrick Lamar's verse on "Control" did more than just lyrically challenge the rap game. Since the verse dropped on August 12, Lamar has gained Twitter followers exponentially. In just the week following, he gained 209,000 more followers, which is a 510% increase from the previous week. Almost everyone he mentioned wound up getting many new followers as well. Jay Electronica gained 5,000, Pusha T gained 30,000, and Big K.R.I.T. gained a solid 10,000. The historic Texas label just signed a new distribution partnership with New York's Sony RED, just in time for Bun B's new album in October. Bun's album is rumored to feature 2 Chainz, and will follow his critically acclaimed "Trill" series. In addition to Bun B, the label will also be dropping a posthumous Pimp C album in the near future. Juicy J has mentioned his desire to produce the album, though nothing is set in stone yet. Brandy took the stage for a surprise performance in South Africa last weekend, but the surprise part was an abysmal mistake. The Grammy award-winning singer came onstage at the 90,000-capacity FNB Stadium to a crowd of only 40 people. Brandy was supposed to be a surprise performer during the music portion of Nelson Mandela Sport and Culture day; however, attendees weren't expecting the singer, so they exited en masse after a series of performers played sets before Brandy. South African singer Kabomo witnessed the disgrace and described what went down on Twitter. "Brandy performed to an empty stadium. With the stadium lights on. She sulked after two songs and walked off." To add insult to injury, Brandy was also snubbed on television. Oscar-winning director Ben Affleck is set to star as Batman in Warner Bros. Man of Steel sequel, the studio announced Thursday. Zack Snyder will be returning to direct Affleck and Henry Cavill in the still-untitled film, which will be the first time Batman and Superman have shared the big screen. The press release announcing the news says that Affleck’s Batman will be “an entirely new incarnation of the character.” Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will be returning to reprise their roles in the film as well, which is slated to open worldwide on July 17, 2015. Verizon clearly wants us to stop using unlimited data, but even its Edge upgrade program isn't a strong argument for embracing capped plans. The company may soon have a better lure, however: Droid-Life claims to have details of an upcoming, limited-time Verizon Max promo plan that would offer relatively large data buckets to Edge users. Individual subscribers would pay just $30 a month for 6GB of data, or $50 for 8GB with hotspot support. They wouldn't get to share service between devices, however. Verizon has declined to comment on the apparent leak, but we may hear more about Max in the near future when it's reportedly launching on August 25th. We're not convinced that the offer is worthwhile for every unlimited-loving refusenik, but it could soften the blow for those who just can't resist frequent device upgrades. Engadget

It's no secret that Google has been slowly but surely finding its way into the automotive industry, as it's already been working with manufacturers to build self-driving cars for quite some time. However, according to Amir Efrati, a former star reporter for the Wall Street Journal, the software giant is looking to drive a few extra miles down that road by designing and building cars of its own. The company has been in talks with component suppliers like Continental AG and Magna International in the hopes that it could put together an entire car under Google's command. The idea, Efrati says, is to put more pressure on car brands to develop autonomous driving tech, regardless of if Google is directly involved or not. George Zimmerman was spotted shopping for new guns in Cocoa, Florida on Thursday, August 22nd.  He was photographed in the Kel-Tec firearm manufacturing company inquiring about the legality of a Kel-Tec KSG, which is a shotgun that holds 12 rounds, often used for home defense.   Kel-Tec is also the manufacturer of the gun Zimmerman used to shoot and kill Trayvon Martin, the PR-9.  It's uncertain whether or not Zimmerman purchased the weapon. Chris Brown is prepping the release of his upcoming album "X," but would like to get out as many videos out as he can before it's release. Katt Williams brought tears of joy to a wheelchair-bound woman following a recent performance, TMZ reports. Williams had just finished a show in Boston on Sunday when a member of his entourage noticed a woman crying in the audience. She told them she was weeping "tears of joy," after laughing for the first time since she learned she's in desperate need of a kidney transplant. The comedian's security team brought the woman backstage to meet with Katt, who was so moved by her situation that he left the room and came back moments later with a folded up sheet of paper. When the woman opened the paper, she was shocked and overjoyed to find ten $100 bills, along with a note that read, "God never leaves." Cole made some comments during a recent interview with BET that might raise a few eyebrows, even if there might be some truth to it.  He was asked if he believes he would still receive the same level of success if he were dark skinned.  The question came during a discussion of the Trayvon Martin case, and whether or not Martin would've been racially profiled if he was white. Leaving surprises is one thing, but what if you came home to your Porshe spray painted? : Lee Thompson Young, best known as the main character on Disney's "The Famous Jett Jackson," was found dead in his L.A. apartment on Monday. His body was discovered with a gunshot wound that officials believe was self-inflicted. Young currently stars in TNT's "Rizzoli & Isles," and when he didn't show up for work on Monday, the staff called his landlord to check on him. Rappers wearing skirts is nothing new -- Kanye West has been spotted in a black leather one on multiple occasions, as has A$AP Rocky. However, the skirts worn by those emcees at least came down to the knee. The biggest Hip Hop story in a long time is Kendrick Lamar's titanic verse on Big Sean's song "Control." He calls out eleven different significant rappers in the verse, including the main artist on the song, Big Sean. Although many have labeled the verse a "playful" diss, or even a polite diss, some don't think a rapper should ever tolerate being dissed on his own song. Lamar Odom walked away from charges related to his run-in with a paparazzi cameraman in the middle of an L.A. street on July 10th with a simple financial slap on the wrist.  While his case was initially sent to the L.A. County D.A. to consider possible felony charges, Odom has instead been given a pass by the D.A., who referred it to the L.A. City Attorney for a possible misdemeanor charge.  According to what law enforcement has told TMZ, Lamar agreed to pay for breaking the photog's camera equipment, and will have to attend an office hearing for a sit-down discussion with the photographer and a hearing officer as an alternative to appearing for prosecution.  The photog angered Lamar after questioning him about whether or not he cheated on his wife Khloe Kardashian. Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. was sentenced to two and a half years in prison after he pleaded guilty to spending $750,000 in campaign funds on personal items. In addition, he will serve 36 months of probation, 500 hours of community service, and undergo extensive mental health care. His wife Sandra pleaded guilty to tax fraud and was sentenced to one year in prison, and will have to pay $22,000 in restitution. Jesse made a statement after deciding to serve his sentence first, as their sentences were staggered. "Today I manned up and tried to accept responsibility for the errors of my ways. And I still believe in resurrection. I didn't separate my personal life from my political activities, and that was wrong." He continued, "I misled the American people. I misled the House of Representatives. I misled the media by filing my reports. I was wrong. And I don't fault anyone. And I hope even those who still support me don't hold any judgment against you."

Miami rapper Pitbull wants to give back to his community, and aims to do so by opening a new charter school in his home city. The school, which will be called "Sports Leadership and Management (SLAM)," will be opening August 17. In an interview with the Washington Post, Pitbull spoke on his motivations for becoming involved in Miami education. "I can speak from the heart when it comes to charter schools for the simple fact is that teachers have changed my life," said Pitbull. "I had a second grade teacher that taught me to believe in myself and the talent that we didn't even understand that we had at the time. So, that's the same thing I want to do with the kids. Sometimes what happens is that education is no longer sexy. It's no longer cool. I want to tell them or help put together either curriculum or schools where it does entertain them or engage them. One of Michelle Obama's main objectives while in office has been to curb America's rapidly rising rates of childhood obesity. To combat the problem, the First Lady has been promoting a program called "Let's Move," which combines "comprehensive strategies with common sense." Michelle plans to release a "Let's Move" Hip Hop-inspired album as part of the program, and has recruited a wide range of well-known acts. DMC of Run-DMC, Doug E. Troubled ex-MLB player Doc Gooden has found himself sinking deeper. The once no-hitter throwing pitcher was evicted from his New Jersey mansion, after neglecting to pay rent for what was reportedly months. Dwight's estranged wife and his two children were living in the house at the time of the eviction, which displaced the whole Gooden family. Apparently, they moved into the house back in September 2011, with an agreed upon $4,500 a month in rent. However, when Dwight's wife filed for a restraining order back in March, he had to move out. Everyone continued staying in the house, but received nothing from Dwight, and had nothing for rent. The homeowners predictably filed a lawsuit against Gooden, demanding that they get back the rent plus fees which add up to $18,984. Dwight has not responded to calls. Source: tmz.com

Two New York residents are currently locked up in a Florida jail, after allegedly planning to commit widespread fraud all over the state. According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, 22-year-old Graisy Pichardo and 26-year-old Myles Nicholas were the people involved, and are being held on $15,000 bail. Deputies claim the two went to Wal-Mart to buy gift cards, but left the store when asked for identification. Police found the two in a car outside the store, with a credit card cloning machine. Evidently, the two had been cloning cards and buying gift cards at dozens of stores. The two were charged with theft and several other felony charges.
