50 Cent's 2014 takeover included a new album, a G-Unit reunion, a Starz drama series and now another TV project with Comedy Central. The rapper posted the news on Instagram on Friday. The Chicago Bulls are believed to be one of the most likely teams to land free agent Carmelo Anthony. While the Bulls management and coach Tom Thibodeau are attempting to secure Melo for the new roster, Bulls star Derrick Rose says he's not interested in recruiting Melo. Why? Simply put, it isn't his job. Rose spoke to Yahoo Sports on Sunday (June 29th) about Melo potentially joining the Bulls, and while Rose said he's not going out of his way to woo Anthony, he certainly wouldn't mind playing side by side with him. "My thing is if they want to come, they can come.  I love Melo's game, he's a great player. Takes the game serious. He's consistent. He shoots the ball great. Angela Bassett is developing a biopic about Whitney Houston's life, and the late singer's daughter was miffed that she wasn't chosen for the lead role. The "Waiting to Exhale" actress said in an interview that Bobbi Kristina was the furthest person from her mind when choosing someone to play Whitney.  Angela told Entertainment Weekly, "I did not think about casting her. And probably for a number of reasons, you know. One being that she's not an actress. I know she's acted here and there. I know she's been on their family's reality show, but she's not an actress and acting is a craft. It's an attempt to illuminate the complexities of human behavior and life. And this is a very fast-paced schedule; we have just 21 days to tell this story. It's more than just saying lines and turning the light on. You have to drive the story—there's a technical aspect." Eminem's daughter Hailie Jade graduated from Chippewa Valley High in Clinton Township, Michigan with honors. Her father, who made Hailie a regular presence in his songs, was likely thrilled at the news, as he always commented in interviews how he wanted his daughter to succeed.  Back in October, it was reported that Hailie won Homecoming Queen , and a video surfaced of her mother Kim excitedly hugging her after the announcement. Jim Jones has dabbled in reality television and the world of fashion, but the rapper is looking to up his star power with a little help from Tyrese. The Bronx emcee reached out to Tyrese on Instagram asking about a possible mentorship with the A-lister. "let me b ur apprentice," he commented on the actor's post. "i will pay my own everything n I will b punctual n diligent n ready to make store runs if i have too no pride Im just tryin to graduate to the next level of entertainment." After one year of coaching The Brooklyn Nets reports have surfaced that former NBA player Jason Kidd will step down from the position. According to the New York Times, Kidd is prepared to leave the Nets after he was denied a larger position with the team. Instead of giving the coach a position that will have him head of the team's basketball operations, NBA officials gave him the ok to interview with the Milwaukee Bucks for another coaching position. Kidd has three years left on his $10.5 million dollar contract with the team, but the two teams are currently in talks to release the 41-year-old from hs contract. Aaliyah's cousin and manager of her Blackground Records label, Jomo Hankerson, spoke with The Ryan Cameron Morning show recently about the upcoming Lifetime biopic based off of her legacy.  Hankerson addressed various topics surrounding the publicly criticized casting of actress Zendaya as the lead role, and also Aaliyah's controversial marriage to R. Kelly.  Hankerson was reluctant to speak too in-depth on the R. Kelly marriage but did state that the matter will be addressed in another film. After being asked whether Aaliyah and R. Famed director of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Jerry Bruckheimer recently spilled details on the status of his other popular franchise, Bad Boys 3. After scheduling conflicts and production setbacks, the director says the outline for the script will be ready by the fall. The Bad Boy franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence has grossed over $300 million. Despite the pushbacks, the film is still set for a July 4, 2015 release.

Azealia Banks wants to end her ongoing beef with T.I. The femcee took to her Twitter account over the weekend to address her issues with the rapper and explains that she's done going back and forth with the "No Mediocre" rapper. "Alright @Tip it's over," she tweeted. "This isn't even interesting anymore. Don't let Tmz and Vh1 gass you up. Cause your NOT going to do anything." The two have had issues for a few years after Banks called out Iggy Azalea on some of her racial lyrics in 2009. The rapper came to Iggy's defense on Twitter which prompted their beef. She also mentions his threats became exhausting for her to deal with. "Ratchetness is needed," she tweeted. "But ignorance has no place in 2014." Due to his increased stake in the Charlotte Hornets, the Michael Jackson of sports, Michael Jordan, has now made his way into the billionaires' club. According to sources close to the Hornets, Jordan recently increased his stake in the team from 80% to 89.5%, which puts his total net worth over the billion dollar mark. Jordan became an investor in the Hornets back in 2006 when they were still known as the Bobcats. In 2010, he took on the title of "controlling owner" after buying out Robert Johnson for $175 million. According to reports, Jordan's equity in the team is worth $416 million. Being that his net worth is valued at $600 million, this gives him a new net worth of over $1 billion. According to Brian Windhorst, sportswriter for ESPN, King James made some big money when Dr. Dre sold Beats Electronics to Apple. Due to him owning a small stake in the company, the NBA star made a cool and quiet $30 million off of the sale. Sports Business Analyst for ESPN, Darren Rovell, is reporting that this may be the largest payout in history for an athlete. In an act of solidarity to comedian Ardie Fuqua's daughter, Judd Apatow, Louis C.K., and Tracy Morgan's ex-wife, Sabina Morgan, are asking that TMZ remove a video of a crash that took place on the New Jersey Turnpike on Saturday.  In the video, Ardie Fuqua is shown being pulled from the car wreck that took the life of comedian James McNair and put Tracy Morgan and Fuqua in critical condition. Morgan's assistant, Jeffrey Millea, was also critically injured in the accident, while comedian Harris Stanton suffered minor injuries.  Ardie Fuqua's daughter is very upset with TMZ and has been asking them to take the footage down. In a post on Instagram she wrote:  "I understand people want to know and people want to be updated, but enough is enough. This is hurting my heart so bad that this video is posted for all to see. Casey Cohen, a star of Bravo's "Princesses: Long Island," sent off a cease and desist letter to Bauer Media Group, which published a story in several magazines, including In Touch, about her being Jay Z's mistress. The letter states that Casey and Jay Z "have never been in love or intimate" and called the articles "a foul and phony mistress-rumor." Cohen, who also works as a VIP hostess in NYC, claims to have met Jay Z and Beyonce several times through her job, but denies ever having a relationship with the rapper. Karlesha Thurman, a recent graduate of California State University Long Beach, shared a photo on Facebook's Black Women Do Breastfeed page of her nursing her daughter at her graduation ceremony. The photo went viral, and while many people wrote uplifting messages, others chimed in with negative comments.  Chad Ochocinco even shared Thurman's photo with the message, "Breast feeding & graduation (nice combo)," which lifted the popularity of the image even more. The 25-year-old mother spoke about her photo going viral, admitting she was shocked, and thanked the Facebook page for featuring her picture.  "I found out I was pregnant my last year of college, had my daughter one week into my last semester, she was my motivation to keep going, so me receiving my BA was OUR moment, so glad I captured the moment and so glad you shared it with the world so thank you again." On Tuesday, May 27, 2014, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed the Workplace Opportunity Wage Act (S.B. 934) into law. The Act will increase Michigan’s minimum wage from $7.40 to $9.25 per hour over the next four years – an overall increase of 25%. The increase will occur in phases beginning on September 1, 2014 as set forth below. Americans are still not getting the message about protecting their personal info, despite recent  epic data breaches . Consumer Reports  said that one in seven US residents, or about 45 million people, received some kind of notice that their personal data was compromised. Those stats reflect a lot of corporate negligence, but individuals aren't innocent, either. About 11 million people fell for email phishing scams and 29 percent had their PCs infected by malware. And despite frequent media reports about such attacks, 62 percent of us have done virtually nothing to toughen our security. Most problems can be avoided by taking a few small actions: using  difficult-to-guess  passwords and  not re-using them , avoiding websites of dubious origin, not posting private info on social networks and not clicking on unknown email attachments, for starters. Finally, if you hear that a site like  eBay has been breached  and you have an account, change your password.

R&B star Chris Brown has had a rough couple of months, and it seems he's finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel. According to reports, the "Loyal" superstar was released from LA County jail early this morning (June 2) after being sentenced to 131 days in May for probation violation after his March arrest after being kicked out of court ordered rehab. The judge credited the 116 days he lasted in rehab as part of the sentence, as well as 59 days of time served in jail. He faces separate charges in Washington D.C. and still must complete his community service. Brown hit Twitter ASAP, saying he's been "humbled" by the experience and is ready to get back to work, pushing his new music.
