Image
According to LiAngelo Ball’s agent, the basketball player has declared for the 2018 NBA Draft. The 19-year-old player recently put in his paperwork to be a part of the June Draft. This comes after Ball was drafted and played with Vytautas Prienu, a Lithuanian team. Ball was in the spotlight in the past for a shoplifting scandal while on a trip with UCLA in China, which ultimately led to him leaving the school. The 6’5” forward/guard averaged 15.7 points and almost three rebounds per game while on Vytautas Prienu. Source: bleacherreport.com

Blac Youngsta Allegedly Arrested in Ohio For Gun Possession

Image
Blac Youngsta might be one of the most entertaining figures in hip-hop on social media today. The Memphis-bred rapper doesn't take himself too seriously in the public eye but has found himself in trouble with the law since his rise to prominence. His most recent run-in with the law in regards to the Young Dolph shooting that took place at the beginning of last year, still hasn't been resolved as the rapper is currently on bond while promoting his debut album 223 that dropped last month. Now, footage of Blac Youngsta has popped up of the rapper being detained and handcuffed in Lockington, Ohio after police officers found guns in the vehicle the rapper was traveling in. In the short clip taken by his manager, B Mimms, Youngsta can be seen getting patted down and cuffed while an officer confiscates an AK-47 from his team's vehicle. Mimms was later released from the car and it's unclear at the moment if Youngsta was ever taken in and booked on weapons charges in Ohio. T

NBA tests streaming the fourth quarter of regular season games for only 99 cents

Image
It is hardly a new observation to point out that the first 36 minutes of an NBA contest isn't worth watching, and all that matters is the fourth quarter. That kind of thinking is actually incorrect since what happens in the last 12-minutes is all about everything that took place on the hardwood prior to the final quarter. Still, the league itself is trying to pass along this way of thinking by offering live streams of the last quarter of certain games for the heavily discounted price of 99 cents. On Friday night, certain NBA fans received a notification that they could watch the fourth quarter of the Miami Heat-Oklahoma City Thunder game for 99 cents. Going into the last 12-minutes of the game, Miami had a two-point lead. With two-minutes left in the game, the Heat trailed by four points, cut that lead in half with one-minute left, and went on to lose by a score of 105-99.  That the NBA is offering fans the opportunity to watch the last quarter of a game for 99 cents shouldn'

Facebook kept track of calls and texts sent by users with an Android phone

Image
Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has a lot of explaining to do. The social networking site has been lambasted in the media for possibly violating a 2011 consent decree with the FTC that prevented it from giving out information about subscribers without their permission. But the latest bomb to strike might be the most damaging. A man living in New Zealand was looking through the data that Facebook had collected about his contacts when he discovered something rather shocking. Facebook had tracked two-years worth of phone calls that were made from his Android phone. The data included in the listing not only revealed if the call was incoming or outgoing, it also listed missed calls, the name of the person on the other end of the line, the length of the call, and the date and time it was placed. You can see what a call log looks like by viewing the image at the top of this story. And others have discovered this same thing when they requested a zip file of the information collect

Kyrie Irving to Miss 3-6 Weeks After Undergoing Knee Surgery

Image
The Boston Celtics announced that All-star point guard Kyrie Irving underwent a "minimally invasive" procedure to remove a tension wire in his left knee on Saturday. He is expected to return to basketball activities in three to six weeks. The Celtics released an official statement on the procedure late Saturday afternoon. Celtics guard Kyrie Irving today underwent a minimally-invasive procedure to remove a tension wire in his left knee. The wire was initially placed as part of the surgical repair of a fractured patella sustained during the 2015 NBA Finals. While removal of the wire should relieve irritation it was causing in Irving’s patellar tendon, the fractured patella has fully healed, and Irving’s knee has been found to be completely structurally sound. Irving is expected to return to basketball activities in 3-6 weeks. After missing five consecutive games due to knee soreness, the 26-year-old sought out a second opinion before ultimately opting for surgery. The regu

Black Panther' Named Top-Grossing Superhero Film of All Time

Image
Another week another box office record for Black Panther. In what seems like a weekly occurrence, Black Panther has broken another record over the weekend. It just became the top-grossing superhero film of all time in the U.S. after surpassing the $623.4 million The Avengers made in 2012. Marvel Studios and Disney reportedly reached the milestone Saturday (March 24). The Ryan Coogler-directed film is now one of seven films to ever earn $600 million or more domestically. Black Panther has topped all movies at the box office every week since opening February 16. According to reports, "Pacific Rim Uprising" will take the top spot this week ending "Black Panther's" reign at number one. Black Panther's historic run also includes grossing $1.2 billion to date worldwide. It's only the 14th film to ever accomplish that feat. It also had the second biggest opening weekend for a Marvel Studios film, after The Avengers. It's also only the fourth film to top $

Teacher Arrested After Sexual Relationship With 13-Year-Old Revealed

Image
An Arizona elementary school teacher found her way into the public eye because of an inappropriate school relationship. Brittany Zamora was a married sixth-grade teacher at Las Brisas Academy. That's where her relationship with a 13-year-old student began with flirting in the classroom and sending him naked pictures of herself. Thanks to an app the boy's parents installed to monitor his cellphone contents, certain texts with keywords were brought to their attention. Searching his phone is how they found text messages between he and his instructor. Goodyear Police Department Spokeswoman Lisa Kutis told KPHO, “The text messages found are sexual in nature [and] allege an ongoing relationship between the two." Las Brisas' principal was first to be alerted about the improper conversations. Eventually, police were involved and arrested Zamora after having a meeting with the principal. District Superintendent Richard Rundhaug posted an official statement (which has been r

Georgia Mother Crashes SUV To Show Her Kids God Is Real

Image
Bakari Warren used an almost fatal car accident to teach her kids a lesson. The 25-year-old mother was driving with her two children on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. What was expected of the young ones to be a normal drive, Warren had different plans. Bakari switched from her northbound direction to go southbound in the opposite lane and purposely collided the SUV into a concrete pole before warning her kids to "buckle up." Police who interviewed the 5-year-old and 7-year-old reported they knew she crashed the car on purpose because when she turned to them "her eyes was closed and she was saying 'blah, blah, blah, I love God.'" Apparently the lesson to be learned was that God is real and no matter happens, He will protect them from the crash. Norcross police Sgt. Eric Butynshki explained while Warren was locked in handcuffs in the back of a police car, she directed authorities to look at her Facebook page for more clarity on the reasoning of her reckle

Prosecutors Seek 5-Year Sentence for DMX's Tax Evasion

Image
DMX is currently awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to not paying some $1.7 million in taxes. According to recent reports, the Manhattan prosecutors on the case are seeking a five-year bid for the hip-hop legend. Prosecutors are set to recommend that X serve a four-year nine-month to five-year sentence for what they dub as "brazen" crimes. Court documents containing the prosecution's recommendation state, “use this sentencing to send the message to this defendant and others that star power does not entitle someone to a free pass, and individuals cannot shirk the duty to pay their fair share of taxes." DMX's lawyer Murray Richman is looking for probation and drug treatment for the rapper, which would allow him to perform in order to pay back his debt. Richman was quoted, “They wish to make an example of him just before tax season just as they always do,” adding, “Take a man who comes from the ghetto and expect him to understand the implications of doing ta

Amazon fullfillment center opens in Livonia creating 1,000 jobs

Image
LIVONIA, Mich. (WJBK) - Amazon is celebrating the grand opening of its 1 million square foot fulfillment center in Livonia.   On Friday, Governor Rick Snyder and Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley toured the first facility of its kind in Michigan that will created more than 1,000 full-time jobs with full benefits. "Good to see Michigan being selected because we've created a good business climate," Snyder said. Despite Detroit, losing its bid on Amazon's second headquarters, Snyder and others are not viewing that as a failure but, a good learning experience. Amazon is still creating 3,500 jobs across the state. "We've gotten a lot of projects, this is one Amazon. We have another Amazon in Romulus. We have other things that are growing," said Wayne County Executive Warren Evans. Snyder and Calley stressed the benefits of Amazon Marketplace, helping local entrepreneurs expand their businesses. "There are literally thousands of entrepreneurs that ar

Trump Blames Obama for Legalizing Bump Stocks, Says DOJ Will Ban Them

Image
The use of 'bump stocks' to enhance the firepower of guns have been officially banned and President Trump took to Twitter to gloat about the move he led to do away with the devices, by throwing former Commander-In-Chief Barack Obama under the bus. "Obama Administration legalized bump stocks. BAD IDEA. As I promised, today the Department of Justice will issue the rule banning BUMP STOCKS with a mandated comment period. We will BAN all devices that turn legal weapons into illegal machine guns," Trump tweeted to his following of 49.4 million, on Friday, March 23. Since the latter months of 2017 Trump has spoken out to signal that the government would be reviewing bump stocks and whether they out to be lawful. By December a probe into the semi-automatic equipped attachment was underway and by the attacks on Parkland in February. the President had kicked the discussion into another gear. The abolishment of bump stocks is only one of several gun policies Trump has present

Now, the singer has come out and confirmed the affair between the two took place for months. According to TMZ, sources close to O’Day noted that in 2012, Trump Jr. told the singer that his marriage was on the rocks already and that he had intentions of leaving his wife. It was also noted that Vanessa Trump knew about the affair while it was happening. Despite the affair taking place, O’Day claims the relationship she and Trump Jr. had did not spark the divorce between him and Vanessa years later. Source: TMZ

Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS Students Now Have To Wear Clear Backpacks

Image
Amid a number of security threats that have followed the February shooting that killed 17, students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School will soon be permitted to bring only clear backpacks to class. A number of teens who attend the Parkland school have taken to social media to voice their disagreement with the policy, which Broward County Public Schools superintendent Robert W. Runcie informed families of in letters sent home this week. In the memo, Runcie promises that each student will be supplied with a new clear bag and that they will be required to use it upon their return from Spring Break. In addition to the backpack rule, students and staff will also need to wear identification badges at all times. Since the attack over one month ago, several arrests have been made that drew scrutiny to the school's security apparatus. Among them was the booking of gunman Nikolas Cruz's brother Zachary on trespassing charges for skateboarding through the halls to reportedly “refl

Toys 'R' Us Founder Charles Lazarus Dies at 94 After Company Goes Bankrupt

Image
Only one week after the world was shocked to learn that Toys "R" Us is shutting down its remaining U.K. and U.S. operations, the iconic retailer regretfully bade farewell to founder Charles Lazarus, who reportedly passed away at age 94 on Thursday, March 22. While Lazarus no longer held a stake and hadn't actively worked for the company since leaving his position as CEO in 1994, his legacy as an innovator in the business will forever keep his name synonymous with the brand. The D.C. born magnate already had nine years invested in the industry when he opened the doors of the toy haven in 1957. Prior to resorting to a supermarket style niche establishment he founded and ran the baby furniture and toy store that folks in the nation's capital knew as Children's Bargain Town. Before the Targets, Walmarts, and the Amazons of the world presenting a shopping model that customers would ultimately abandon Toys "R" Us for, it was undoubtedly the number one desti

Trump's tariffs on Chinese imports could raise Apple iPhone prices in the U.S.

Image
If you live in the U.S. and end up having to pay much more for your next Apple iPhone, you might put the blame squarely on President Donald J. Trump. The president went against the advice of his rapidly changing staff (can't tell the players without a scorecard) and announced tariffs against imports from China. A 25% tariff will be added to as much as $50 billion worth of goods from the country. The majority of products affected are said to be from the high-tech sector. While many consider the Apple iPhone to be as American as Apple Pie, the truth is that the handset is designed in the U.S. and is assembled in China. From there, it is shipped to other countries including the U.S. That would make the device vulnerable to Trump's tariffs. The president says that the tariffs placed against Chinese imports are "the first of many," and China's U.S. ambassador said his government is "not afraid" of a trade war. If a 25% tariff is slapped on the iPhone, it w

Dwight Howard Scores 30 Points And Grabs 30 Rebounds

Image
Hornets center Dwight Howard made history on Wednesday night (March 21) by becoming the 10th player to record 30 points and 30 rebounds in a game since the statistic received its own column in the books in 1963. Howard had 11 offensive rebounds and 19 defensive rebounds to go along with a total of 32 points in the 111-105 win. It was an outcome that seemed unlikely following a dismal first half that saw Charlotte's big man contribute only four of the points his team put up while trailing 62-43. Not until he received a wake-up call from a friend who hit him up during the break did he shake the cobwebs off to make way for a dominant finish, according to Howard. “I just thought that my energy and effort wasn’t where it needed to be for our team to be successful,” he told reporters after the game. “Got a text at halftime from somebody and it kind of got me motivated and gave me some extra energy.” There was a time when 30/30 nights weren't all that uncommon, but those days expir

According to Raleigh Police, Lofton was placed under arrest after a Facebook user posted the video, urging authorities to arrest the mother. The 10- second clip shows an individual holding a cigarillo close to the lips of the infant. The child then makes a cooing noise before inhaling and letting out a puff of smoke. The concerned user, identified as Rasheed Martin of New York, says he didn’t speak to police directly but wanted to do his part in helping identify those involved. Martin says he only found out about the video after a friend shared it. He claims he chose to repost the video to urge followers and the 1.5 million viewers of the clip to help police. "Once more and more people found out ab

Cardi B Doesn't Think Hip-Hop is Taking #MeToo Seriously

Image
Cardi B shared her feelings on why she doubts the #MeToo movement won't make much of an impact in the world of hip-hop during an interview with Cosmopolitan. Cardi, who transformed a stripper career into reality show stardom then into becoming music’s hottest superstar, questioned whether claims of sexual misconduct within hip-hop by women would be taken seriously, considering the fact the genre promotes the sexuality of women heavily. “A lot of video vixens have spoke about this and nobody gives a f**k,” Cardi said. “When I was trying to be a vixen, people were like, ‘You want to be on the cover of this magazine?’ Then they pull their d**ks out. I bet if one of these women stands up and talks about it, people are going to say, ‘So what? You’re a ho. It don’t matter.’” Cardi’s comments come after Amber Rose stated her belief that the #MeToo movement leaves out many minority groups. “It’s kind of very frustrating to me because all of a sudden, feminism became such a mainstream th

The 3x NBA All-Star was poised for great success, but his battle with alcoholism killed his career. A decade after he left the NBA, Francis is still struggling with his demons. Francis was arrested for public intoxication in Burbank, California, on Sunday night. Police responded to a call that stated a drunk customer in a hotel bar was making a scene. The 'Michigan' Air Jordan XII Is Dropping This Summer

Image
This has been a historic year in college basketball history, especially in regards to the NCAA tournament. The underdog theme is running strong and for anyone who claims to have a perfect bracket still is most likely lying. With that said, it's common knowledge that Jordan Brand is a sponsor of the Michigan Wolverines and for those of us who've been envious of the Air Jordan player exclusives the athletes receive, the Jumpman is finally letting the general public get their hands on a pair. Which Michigan x Air Jordan retro would that be exactly? The suede Air Jordan XII pictured above, of course. This particular Air Jordan XII 'Michigan' is very reminiscent of the PSNY x Air Jordan XII releases we saw drop last year but of course, this rendering of the sneaker comes in a 'Collegiate Navy' hue complete with contrasting 'Amarillo' accents that hit the sock lining, ankle collar shoelace eyelets, midsole tabs, Michigan 'M' logo on the right tongue

Stripper Pics of Trey Songz Assault Accuser Leak

Image
Trey Songz might be known for serenading the ladies with his R&B catalog but, one thing that is for certain about the singer is that he's not a chump. In the past, we've seen Songz publicly deal with legal disputes and lash out during his shows which resulted in a lawsuit or two but now, Trey's being accused of something much more severe, in the realm of assaulting women. Back in February, during NBA All-Star Weekend, Trey allegedly assaulted a woman by striking her in the face during an after party. The woman supposedly obtained a restraining order for her safety in fear that he would attempt to return one of the Los Angeles nightclubs that she 'works' in search of her. Well, now, the assault accuser has been identified as Andrea Buera who recently held a public press conference unveiling her identity for the first time alongside her attorney, the infamous Lisa Bloom. Her lawyer is the same one who represented Black Chyna in all of her legal dealings as well

Image

Calera Police Chief Sean Lemley said in a conference that, “We know what happened that night and we do have evidence to support th

NASA Says They Can't Stop Asteroid That Could Possibly Hit Earth in 2135

Image
If you’re not living it up now and ensuring your legacy is in place, you should do it. Scientists recently reported that there’s a mega-asteroid that could impact earth in 2135, and there’s nothing that NASA can do to stop it. Currently, the asteroid dubbed Bennu is on a path that has a 1 and 2,700 chance of colliding with earth, and the results would be detrimental. The asteroid measures the length of five football fields and is 1,664 times heavier than the Titanic ship. Height wise, it’s as tall as the Empire State Building, and once it hits, it would let off 1,200 megatons of energy. This energy force would be 80,000 stronger than the Hiroshima bomb. Some scientists in Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory have been steadily working on a plan of action to sway the asteroid away. They developed a spacecraft called ‘HAMMER’ (Hypervelocity Asteroid Mitigation Mission for Emergency Response vehicle), which could be launched to deflect the asteroid off its course towards earth. High School Custodian Stole Cash from Students' Backpacks During Walkout

Image
Last Wednesday students all across America staged walkouts to raise awareness and advocate for tighter gun laws. With the recent focus on school shootings and how we can prevent them from happening, people are searching for solutions anywhere they can. Unfortunately, one school employee in South Carolina decided to take advantage of the walkout. A custodian at Richland Northeast High School in South Carolina went through students’ book bags during the walkout and took their cash. Aisha Evans stole $180 from three students while they were participating in the national protest against gun violence on March 14th, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. After school administrators and the school resource officer conducted an investigation, Evans was charged with three counts of petty larceny. According to a report from CNN, she was employed by Service Solutions, an agency that provides custodial services to the school. The Richland School District issued a statement affir

LeBron Throws Down One-Handed Flush over Blazers Big Man Jusuf Nurkic

Image
LeBron James is called the king for a reason. Although James may be getting older, his game has shown no signs of slowing down. This season, the NBA veteran is averaging 26.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 9 assists per game. He is also a 14x All-Star, 3x NBA Champion, 3x Finals MVP, 4x league MVP, and a 2x Olympic Gold Medalist. Even with all those stats behind him, the fans still enjoy the simple things, like watching LeBron dunk all over Jusuf Nurkic. The Cavaliers played the Portland Trailblazers on Thursday night, and although LeBron had a stellar game, the Cavs lost. In the first quarter, James felt like taking it back to his Miami days and jammed the ball home on a posterizing dunk over Jusuf Nurkic. The Bosnian Nurkic stands at 6'11, so dunking over him is no easy task. Still, LeBron takes the ball from half court and drives towards the left baseline before cutting to the hoop and leaping from about ten feet out to deliver the dunk. James scored 35 points and added 14 rebounds

The Air Jordan III Flyknit 'Black' Release Date Gets Pushed Back

Image
At the end of January, we provided an initial look at the Air Jordan III Flyknit 'Black' in commemoration of the silhouette's 30th year in existence. The kicks are a mashup of the classic performance sneaker we've come to know and love in combination with Nike's modern-day lightweight Flyknit technology. The 'Black' rendering of the sneaker is the first offering Jordan Brand has unveiled to the masses as the sneaker takes on a similar aesthetic to the 'Flip' colorway of the Air Jordan III. The Flyknit version of the kicks takes on an aggressive micro-Flyknit woven base complete with a very distinctive pattern throughout the base of the sneaker while the textured elephant print mudguard remains intact despite the material update. A supportive synthetic heel panel displays a debossed Jumpman logo and ditches the classic Nike AIR branding while waxed shoelaces and a glow-in-the-dark rubber outsole close out the sneaker. Surprisingly, the Flyknit upda

Trump Says 'Space Force' in the Works Capable of Waging War Outside Earth

Image
Donald Trump believes the United States should be ready for combat across all frontiers, suggesting Tuesday that the U.S military should develop an armed forces regiment for outer space. According to the New York Daily News, speaking before military men and women during his visit to the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in California, Trump praised the service of the military before indicating his belief that America's fighting force should expand for future wars. “Space is a war-fighting domain, just like the land, air, and sea,” Trump said. “We may even have a Space Force — we have the Air Force, we’ll have the Space Force. While he didn’t specify what this new force would look like or the enemies they would combat, Trump declared that his announcement would give the media a frenzy. "Look at all those people back there. Look at that. Oh, that fake news," Trump said “They know, they understand. Think of that. Space force!" Trump’s visit to the military base was h

Russell Westbrook Joins Magic, Kidd, Big O with 100th Triple Double

Image
Russell Westbrook entered the record books as the fourth player in NBA history to score 100 career triple-doubles, on Tuesday night, March 13. Westbrook grabbed his 10th rebound late in a contest that the Oklahoma City Thunder would take from the Atlanta Hawks by a score of 119-107. He had already accumulated double digits in scoring and assists leading up to the moment and only needed the missed Taurean Prince three-pointer that he'd grab dow with 2:42 remaining - to reach the milestone. Because OKC was playing before an away crowd at Philips Arena, the reception for Russ notching the accomplishment wasn't a grand one - but it did draw standing ovations from pockets of fans dispersed among the crowd. He'd go on to finish the game with 32 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in the victory. Westbrook now joins the exclusive company of Jason Kidd, Magic Johnson, and Oscar Robertson as the only players to have amassed triple-doubles in the triple digits, with him being 81 s

Ice Cube stepped up as the interim Commissioner of the BIG3 basketball league after it was announced on Monday (March 12) that former Commish, Roger Mason Jr. has been fired over findings tying him to alleged corruption within the organization. In a letter sent to BIG3 players, coaches, and staff, Mason is cited for having violated his employment agreement by actions he took while courting a pair of Qatari investors who allegedly shortchanged the league by millions. The BIG3 currently has Ayman Sabi and Ahmed Al-Rumaihi in court for agreed-upon contributions, which executives seem to believe Mason happened to receive. Hours after news broke of his dismissal, Mason took to the media to counter that the reason he was actually let go had to do with his attorneys accusing the league of breaching his contract, last week. Kanye West Dyes His Hair Pink

Image
I miss the old Kanye; hair was not gold Kanye. It’s been over a year since we heard from Kanye West. After one of the most climatic album ramp-ups, for the release of his seventh studio album, The Life Of Pablo, Kanye gave the world his new work and began touring featuring a stage design that had never before been seen in America. Floating above the crowd night after night, Ye would perform songs from the old and new. In typical 'Ye fashion, he would also take some time to reflect on things happening around the world and express his thoughts through his "streams of consciousness." One night, Kanye was upset with his friend and brother in arms Jay-Z and expressed his disapproval for how Jay handled responding to Kim Kardashian getting robbed. That night Kanye left the stage after performing three songs and checked himself into a hospital for exhaustion. Upon exiting the hospital, Kanye has been seen out and about sporting different colored hair. Last year, we saw him r
