Image
Former President George H.W. Bush has passed away at the age of 94. His son, former president George W. Bush, released a statement announcing his dad's death.  "Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died. George H.W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for. The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41's life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens."  While he battled illnesses this year, including being admitted for a blood infection one day after his wife Barbara's funeral in April, he was the first former president to reach the age of 94.  Source: NPR

Porn Star "Honey Gold" Getting Mental Health Treatment After Suicide Attempt

Image
Over time it's become clear that the porn industry is destined to become embroiled in conversations around mental health, as numerous tragedies in recent years have highlighted the vulnerabilities involved in the profession. Now actress Honey Gold has come forward to talk about a recent suicide attempt, revealing that she had "been struggling with mental health and trying to deal with trauma caused by things that have happened in the past."  Furthermore, Gold is reaching out to her supporters in needs of funds for her hopeful recovery, while her manager has started a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $48,500 to pay for her medical treatments.  "The program I need to recover is beyond my financial capabilities and I need to get help before it is too late," Gold explained, and based on donations already made by her co-stars it appears that she has the porn communities full support.     Source: complex.com

The Russo Brothers Have An Avenger They Wish They Could Have Saved From The Snap

Image
We lost a lot of heroes at the end of  Avengers: Infinity War .  About half of the Marvel Cinematic Universe disappeared into dust in the final moments of the film. Many of us lost our favorite character and it seems that even the directors of the movie, Joe and Anthony Russo, might have lost theirs. The directors recently revealed that, as fans, and not directors, they wish they could have spared Peter Parker the pain of his death. The directing duo revealed this fact as part of special Q&A (via  Slashfilm ) at a screening of  Avengers: Infinity War  in Los Angeles last night. They revealed that of all the characters that were lost,  Spider-Man  is the one that they would save if they were looking at the movie as fans rather than the creators of the movie. The death of  Peter Parker  is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in a very emotional movie. While most of the heroes that are lost to "the snap" have little idea what's happening to them until

MEDIA REFUSES TO COVER SEXUAL HARASSMENT ALLEGATIONS AGAINST NEIL DEGRASSE TYSON

Image
Can the media straight out refuse to report sexual harassment allegations against a public figure they really like? If these sexual harassment allegations against Neil deGrasse Tyson are real, then they may be the acid test of that theory. Neil deGrasse Tyson is a pompous windbag filled with empty cliches and lefty pieties. He's the media's favorite "scientist" because he is to science about what Carl Sagan was to science. Tyson turns science into scientism, a system of self-assured and anti-intellectual beliefs. Are these allegations real? They appear to involve actual people.  It's odd that they aren't being discussed. Two more women, including a fellow astronomer, say Neil deGrasse Tyson is guilty of inappropriate sexual conduct. Dr. Katelyn N. Allers, Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Bucknell University, told me that she was “felt up” by Tyson at an after-party following a meeting of the American Astronomical Society (AAS) in 2009.

Remy Ma Found in Contempt of Court in Vince Herbert's Lawsuit

Image
Remy Ma was found in contempt of court for failing to turn over financial documents for her work with her former manager and Tamar Braxton's ex-husband, Vincent Herbert. This is in connection with VInce's lawsuit battle with a record company called LDNX, who claim they're owed $380,000 by the music executive.  The judge on the case gave Remy a month to answer questions regarding her work with Vince, and she now has 30 days to comply or she could be hit with sanctions. Remy was also ordered to give VInce any money owed to him so they could give it to LDNX, as they won a judgement against him last year and haven't been able to collect any of the money.  Source: The Blast

Westbrook ties for 3rd in triple-doubles, Thunder beat Cavs

Image
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Russell Westbrook was more introspective than usual Wednesday night. The 2017 MVP moved into a tie for third place on the NBA list for triple-doubles with 23 points, 19 rebounds and 15 assists, and the Oklahoma City Thunder completed a regular-season sweep of the short-handed Cleveland Cavaliers with a 100-83 victory. Westbrook's triple-double was his third this season - all in the last four games - and the 107th of his career, matching Jason Kidd and trailing only Oscar Robertson (181) and Magic Johnson (138). Kidd took 1,247 games to reach 107, while Westbrook needed only 760. The 19 rebounds were one off Westbrook's career high, set in last season's finale against Memphis. And when the star guard addressed the media long after the game ended, he spoke more from the heart than he often does. ''I am extremely blessed and humbled to be able to go out and play and compete in the NBA,'' Westbrook said. ''Just to be named

Don't forget to set up Find My iPhone if you ever want to help bust dangerous criminals

Image
We all know about the existence of apps like  Find My iPhone  and Google’s  Find My Device  for Android, but sometimes, we tend to forget just how incredibly important it is to actually remember to install or enable them shortly after setting up a new smartphone. Not only will you then be able to easily locate a misplaced mobile device, but you may also see your CSI dream come true. That was recently the case for a 14-year-old girl, who played a crucial role in the arrest of a hit-and-run suspect with the help of the newly enabled “Find My iPhone” service on her handset. Said iPhone was left behind by the teenager in a car stolen by the 32-year-old man believed to have caused a number of crashes, including one ending in the injury of one person and three damaged vehicles. The girl, whose name is kept under wraps by  Fox 11 News  and  Geek.com  to protect her identity, managed to escape the truck stolen by the presumably intoxicated suspect as he was driving away. She then re

The unspecified deal is with  New Balance , who are aggressively trying to rebrand themselves towards the basketball market. Starbucks to Ban Porn on Its Free WiFi in All U.S. Stores in 2019

Image
Starbucks has  been in the news a lot this year  for reasons that have nothing to do with their coffee products, and now the billion dollar company has found themselves entangled in a porn controversy they're determined to get out of.  Enough is Enough  is a foundation that advocates for internet safety, and for years they've pressured Starbucks to restrict access to pornography on the free WiFi they provide to their customers.  Back in 2016, the company had made a promise to block porn sites in their cafes, but after two years of inaction they've been called out again by the advocacy group that has started a petition with over 26 thousand signatures. Now Starbucks says that they are fully committed to adding content blockers on explicit websites, and the new policy should be underway by next year.  Source:  fortune.com

Facebook tests the ability to block certain words on your wall

Image
If you're looking to keep certain content from ever appearing on your Facebook wall, there might be a feature in the pipeline for you. Computer science student Jane Manchun Wong  discovered  code on Facebook that appears to show the company is testing the ability to ban certain words, phrases and emoji from appearing on your personal timeline. Engadget reached out to Facebook for confirmation of the feature but has not received a response. Nike uses AR to tease its biggest Jordan launch of the year

Image
If it wasn't already clear that Nike sees  augmented reality as a big deal for footwear , it is now. The company is using AR inside its  SNKRS app  to offer a peek at its biggest shoe release of the year, the Air Jordan 11 Concord, days before you can buy it on December 8th. The immersive feature is no longer there just to help in "the hunt" or serve as an "unlock trigger," a spokesperson tells Engadget. Rather, it's there to "enhance the shopping experience" in your feed. If you want to have a look, you only have to find the shoes, tap a camera button and then tap on a flat surface to 'pin' the sneakers and walk around them. This isn't the same as putting them on your feet, of course, but it's much better than staring at photos and wondering whether you'll like the style in real life. The option is available to hypebeasts using an iPhone 6s or newer (we're checking on Android). While this won't gua
