82-Year-Old Female Bodybuilder Took Down an Alleged Intruder

Image
News surfaced that an 82-year-old woman living in Rochester, New York, fought off a man that attempted to break into her house. Willie Murphy was reportedly getting ready for bed at her home when a man started banging on her door, saying he needed an ambulance. She called the police but would not open the door for the man. Despite that, the man broke into her house and began to walk through her home. She wasn’t having that, though, as she began to hit him with a table. From there, she poured shampoo in the man’s face then began to beat him with a broom until police arrived. Murphy said “I was whaling on that man, ’Cause I said to myself, ‘If it’s my time to go to hell, I’m taking him with me!’” source: CNN

Vegan Man Sues Burger King, Claiming It Cooks Impossible Whopper Next to Meat

Image
Burger King’s beef-free Whopper may not be so meatless after all — at least according to one vegan customer. That’s the argument being made in a lawsuit filed on Monday in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, in which the plaintiff, Phillip Williams, claims that the fast food chain failed to disclose that its plant-based Impossible Whoppers are cooked on the same grills as beef products. The class-action suit accuses Burger King of undertaking “false and misleading business practices” in the marketing and sale of its meatless burgers, and notes that vegans would not purchase the Impossible patties if they knew they had been prepared next to meat options. Mr. Williams, who practices “a strict vegan diet,” bought an Impossible Whopper at a drive-through in Atlanta in August or around that time, according to court documents. The complaint said that he was “duped by Burger King’s deceptive practices into eating a meat-free Whopper Patty that was in fact co

Last Tuesday, Disney+ was launched in the U.S., Canada, and the Netherlands; 24 hours later, the streaming video service had 10 million subscribers . Of course, Disney offers a seven-day free trial, so the number of paid subscribers remains unknown. Still, it was a great start for the entertainment giant's Netflix competitor. Speaking of Netflix, those who have visited one of Disney's parks know that it is highly unusual for Disney to undercut any rival on price, but for $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year, subscribers can sign up to 10 devices on a single account with up to four able to access it at one time. In addition, for that price, Disney also offers 4K streaming on compatible content. A similar plan on Netflix costs nearly $15 a month. Besides attracting millions of Disney fans, Disney+ also has attracted several hackers who are now selling legitimate users' usernames and passwords, according to ZDNet . The report says that the information for breaking into Disney

According to reports, a white 19-year-old teller robbed an elderly man who reportedly made a significant withdrawal from the bank. Michael Newell is being charged with assault, burglary, robbery, and home invasion after attacking the 79-year-old and his 57-year-old stepdaughter. Newell reportedly forced his way into the man’s Bel Air home with a mask on and strangled the man as he asked where the money was at. While that was happening, Newell was put in a headlock by the stepdaughter, according to court records. Newell allegedly escaped while the woman ran to get help, and the man who was assaulted told the cops that the attacker looked like the bank teller after seeing the robber’s mask fall off. As a result, Newell was arrested at Freedom Federal Credit Union and later admitted to the attack. He said he was “tired of working two jobs.” source: CBS Baltimore

Disney+ is already rocking the streaming industry with incredibly early milestone

Image
One full year of hyping after Disney formally threw its hat in the Netflix-dominated video streaming ring , the most highly anticipated new platform of 2019 finally made its commercial debut yesterday, November 12. Today, November 13, the Mouse House is already boasting about the insane subscriber numbers of Disney+, which might explain why it was initially so tricky for so many users to access their family-friendly content. While the platform's free 7-day trial makes it impossible to know how many of those "subscribers" will actually end up paying for the service, the figure remains outstanding, giving Disney the perfect start in a very competitive and increasingly crowded market . It's obviously not fair to make these comparison

According to reports, the father of an 11-month-old baby that was shot in Philadelphia last month has been arrested in connection with the shooting. Investigators say that the child's father, Nafes Monroe, used the toddler as a human shield to fend off an upset drug dealer. The local DA Anthony Voci stated:  "He was using counterfeit money to purchase drugs, knowing that counterfeit money is something that is very upsetting to drug dealers, and when they find out that they're being burned with counterfeit money, they act violently. And this was not the first instance of Mr. Monroe using counterfeit money."  Voci added: "He also was the individual that was not only in the car with his child in harm's way, but drove the child to a house rather than taking him to a hospital immediately, then dropped his child off at the hospital and never looked back."  Monroe was arrested for a probation violation and subsequently charged with reckless endanger
