Is Rihanna Refusing To Be In a Tyler Perry Movie?

Rihanna's acting future is blossoming, but it seems that she doesn't want help from Tyler Perry.

According to Radar Online, the singer has been approached numerous times by Tyler Perry to be featured in an upcoming rom-com, but she's refused to be in any of his films because of the warning she received from the late Whitney Houston.

A source told Radar that Houston informed her Tyler's films were for "fading black stars, not rising ones."

"Although Tyler has been courting Rihanna for a year and a half, hoping to build a movie around her, she has rejected the idea," the source said. "She's ruling out doing a Tyler Perry-style romantic comedy because she thinks she works better in action roles, playing the tough girl."

The rumors may be just whispers since Perry spoke to The Yolanda Adams Morning Show last month and said that he was done for movies for a while.

"I'm just going to focus on television right now," he said. "I've got the Single Moms television show and the others are For Better or Worse and Love Thy Neighbor and the talk show that's on OWN. That's what I'm going to focus on. Staying in that lane for a minute."

Rihanna starred in her first character filmBattleship in 2012. Her next film titledHome, is a Dreamworks film starring Jennifer Lopez, Steve Martin and Jim Parsons.
