Bill Cosby has found another supporter in Cee-Lo Green. The entertainer came to the comedian's defense on Thursday in a brief run-in with TMZ.
Cee-Lo, who has faced rape allegations in the past, says people shouldn't blast the comedian over alleged rumors. Over 18 women claimed to be sexually assaulted by Cosby, including two women who claim the incident happened when they were 15-years-old. The former Voice coach believes concrete facts should be brought ahead before his legacy is tarnished.
"He hasn't said anything, which is also, to some, an admission of guilt as well," he said. "It doesn't seem fair anyway you slice it. ... I'm saying that can be the perception and it is the perception of many simply because he hadn't made a formal statement defending himself. But you can't defend yourself in that capacity. You just have to let facts be facts and so on and so forth. The facts have to speak the loudest. With that being said, none of it seems fair. And of course to any victim in that situation, it's highly unfair. Extremely unfair. It's not for me to really judge it. I definitely can't judge it but it's just unfortunate because he's so beloved to so many people."
Cosby has cancelled two of his tour stops in New York and even offered refunds. He also stepped down as a board member at Temple University and was stripped of his honorary title from the US Navy.
The LAPD are also looking into an investigation over Judy Huth's claims since she stated she was underage at the time of the assault. Huth stated in her lawsuit she was molested by Cosby after he brought her to the Playboy Mansion in the 70's and was told to lie about her age. Hugh Hefner released a statement about the allegations.
"Bill Cosby has been a good friend for many years and the mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening," he said. "I would never tolerate this kind of behavior, regardless of who was involved."
Jill Scott and Whoopi Goldberg have also shown Cosby support and have faced heavy backlash because of it.
