New Motorola DROID to have unbreakable YOUM display?
Earlier today we told you about a pair of new Motorola handsets that could be part of the DROID lineup that is exclusive to Verizon in the U.S. One model, code named the "Clark," is similar to last year's Motorola DROID Turbo with an expected 5.2-inch 1440 x 2560 resolution QHD screen and a 565 ppi pixel density.
The Motorola "Kinzie" will apparently offer a smaller 4.6-inch display, but with a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution, it would have a 639ppi pixel density. If that sounds familiar, that panel was the one originally rumored to be employed on the Gionee Elife S8 before it turned out that the latter will employ a 6-inch glass.
Some more information about the Kinzie has been published this afternoon. According to this report, the Kinzie screen will be a 5.43-inch QHD YOUM display. Motorola (and presumably Verizon) will market the device as having an unbreakable screen. The Motorola DROID line has always contained handsets built like a tank. If the screen can truly be unbreakable, the one vulnerability that DROID models had might be eliminated.
