Teen Fatally Shot After Tracking Down Lost Phone on GPS App

Police say 18-year-old Jeremy Cook was gunned down in London, Ontario, after tracking down his lost cell phone. The teen left his phone in a taxi on Sunday morning and used a popular GPS app to track it down the following day.
After pin pointing the phone's location, Cook and a family member approached a car with three men inside to ask about the missing device. The car then started to drive away and Cook reportedly held onto the door and was shot multiple times.
The suspect's car was later found crashed into a telephone poll, and police reported that they found Cook's phone at the scene, but the men inside had fled.
Cook had no prior arrests and London Police Constable Ken Steeves spoke on his unfortunate death, saying, "It wasn't the app that took away Jeremy's life, it was the individuals, which would be rare, who happened to be armed with a gun."
Police are still searching for the three men in connection with the killing.
