In early June, Phoenix Mercury baller Brittney Griner filed for an annulment from Glory Johnson after being married to her for only 28 days. Now, the pregnant Johnson has taken Griner to court as she seeks temporary spousal support in the form of $20,000 a month.
According to ESPN, Johnson is requesting the $20K monthly and $10,000 advancement for legal fees due to her "reduced WNBA salary during her pregnancy leave and her subsequent inability to play overseas this winter." In court documents filed on June 29 of this year, Glory stated that she needs "household assistance, personal trainers, and medical care not covered by her current insurance" on top of car payments on the Mercedes Griner bought for her. Johnson claims her finances were used up as she paid for the in vitro fertilization, her and Brittney's wedding, plus the furniture in their joint home that she no longer resides in.
After being engaged for nearly a year, the two wed on May 8, 2015. Glory later announced that she's pregnant with twins in late June - Griner claims she was unaware of the fertilization and says their marriage "was a mistake" after attempting to postpone it several times and being pressured into it "under duress by Johnson's threatening statements."
