Michael Vick's Dad Charged in Heroin Sting, Remains at Large

A dozen people were charged with heroin distribution and money laundering drawn from a federal indictment that was unsealed in Norfolk, VA on Wednesday, June 21. Seven of those named in the documents have already appeared before a judge and five remain at large, including retired NFL quarterback Michael Vick's father, Michael Dwayne Boddie.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security division had reportedly been tracking Boddie's involvement in the large scale ring since 2014. Not many details about the alleged conspiracy have been made public, but it has been reported that Boddie's involvement had to do with more than 1 kilo of the drug. News of the charge comes one year after Vick's brother Marcus, who is Boddie's other son, was busted for ecstasy possession in Newport News.
The current status of Boddie's relationship with his boys is unclear. Back in 2007 it was learned through an interview Vick did with the Washington Post that he and his father were estranged. The Post ran that article just prior to Vick plead guilty to charges stemming from a dogfighting ring bust that lead to him serving 21 months in federal prison.
