After losing his fight with leukemia, Actor Adam West died Friday (June 9).
"Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans’ lives. He was and always will be our hero,” West's Family said in a statement
Nostalgic DC comic lovers know West as the Caped Crusader in the late 1960's series "Batman." Adam West was synonymous with the superhero until he was introduced to newer viewers landing a role as the recurring character "Mayor West" on Fox's Family Guy."
The unique voice of West aided him during his lengthy career, gaining him voice acting roles on Adult Swim’s “Robot Chicken,” “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “The Fairly Oddparents,” and “The Boondocks.” According to reports, Adam West was surrounded by his wife Marcelle, six children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
