Nets Forward Kenneth Faried Arrested for Criminal Possession of Weed

Brooklyn Nets forward Kenneth Faried was arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession in New York over the weekend according to USA Today Sports. Southampton Town Police Department told reporters that Faried was the passenger in a Cadillac Escalade that was flagged while driving through a DWI checkpoint after authorities smelled "a strong odor of marijuana" emanating from the SUV.

Faried was found in possession of over two ounces of marijuana and subsequently arrested for fourth-degree criminal possession. Faried was later released on $500 bail. The Brooklyn Nets issued a brief statement on Wednesday, stating in part, "(we) are in the process of gathering more information at this time."
