2018 Marks Deadliest Year for Rappers, 26 Died from Gun Violence or Drugs

For years the hip-hop community has mourned the passing of some of it's most notable stars through either drugs or gun violence. Yet based on the 2018 statistics, it seems that as if today's artists haven't learned enough from that history. Sure enough, the loss of these 26 artists has made 2018 the deadliest year for rappers with more than one month to go, with further statistics indicating that most of these tragedies occur after midnight and in their hometowns. As the culture continues to push forward and celebrates the lives of those who have fallen, we can only hope that they've inspired younger artists to reverse the trend.
