People Are Threatening to Leave Tumblr After It Bans All Adult Content

Fresh off their removal from Apple's iOS App Store after a child pornography scandal, Tumblr has announced that starting December 17th all explicit content will be banned from the site. The social networking service says that their reasoning goes beyond the isolated incident, and by the use of algorithms all adult content will be flagged, deleted, or hidden from view.  

Exceptions to the policy include erotic literature, classical statues, and political protests that contain nudity, while users will have the chance to appeal any outcomes if they believe Tumblr has removed their posts in error. Furthermore, archived content on the site will also be erased or left heavily censored.
