Instagram and Facebook updated their Community Standards on the low in July 2019, and recently it was discovered that a few emojis have gotten hit with a ban on the platform depending on how they are used.
The new terms pushed by Facebook were officially put in place in September 2019. They noted that “[Content] will only be removed from Facebook and Instagram if it contains a sexual emoji alongside an implicit or indirect ask for nude imagery, sex or sexual partners, or sex chat conversations.” Instagram noted they “aren’t taking action on simply the emojis.” Along with that, photos, where emojis cover body parts or female nipples, are not allowed.
