Recently, McDonald's revealed that CEO Steve Easterbrook was fired for reportedly engaging in a consensual relationship with an employee, which goes against company policy.
The decision to let Easterbrook go was made via a voting process that was conducted by board members, who said his behavior “demonstrated poor judgment.”
Easterbrook issued a statement to employees via email, saying, “As for my departure, I engaged in a recent consensual relationship with an employee, which violated McDonald's policy. This was a mistake. Given the values of the company, I agree with the board that it is time for me to move on. Beyond this, I hope you can respect my desire to maintain my privacy.
