Ty Lue Finalizing 5-Year Deal to Become the New Head Coach for the LA Clippers

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Ty Lue is finalizing a five-year deal to become the new head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers.

After serving as an assistant under previous coach Doc Rivers, Lue had the support of key Clippers players during the search process. The Clippers franchise was also confident in Lue's championship pedigree, having coached the Cleveland Cavaliers to an NBA title in 2016.

Chauncey Billups is expected to join Lue's coaching staff as his lead assistant, although he's currently a candidate to become the next coach of the Indiana Pacers.

In addition to winning the 2016 NBA Finals, Lue reaching the NBA Finals in three straight years with the Cavaliers. Lue's record as a head coach is 128-83 overall and 41-20 in the playoffs
