NBA Front Offices Assume LaMelo Ball Will Be Drafted No. 1 Overall

According to reports, "most" front offices have projected LaMelo Ball to go No. 1 overall in the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft. ESPN's Jonathan Givony reported that Ball is the favorite and the feeling is shared around the league:

"Unless a surprise trade completely disrupts the top of the draft, LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman are likely to make up the top three in some order, according to conversations with multiple team executives, scouts, and agents. Most NBA front offices are operating under the assumption that Ball is going No. 1—either to the Minnesota Timberwolves or a team that trades up to select him."

The Minnesota Timberwolves currently hold the No. 1 overall pick but reports say the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, and Oklahoma City Thunder could all make potential moves to trade up to No. 1. While it's too early to say for certain where LaMelo will land if he does get chosen with the top overall pick he'll have the one-up on his older brother Lonzo.
