High School Assistant Principal Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Young Girl

According to reports, a California high school assistant principal was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl who was 7 or 8 years old at the time of the assault. 

Matthew Lin Johnson, 42, was taken into custody and charged with suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14. The victim reportedly told authorities that Johnson abused her "multiple times" over the course of two years. 

It's not immediately clear what the relationship was between Johnson and the victim. Still, San Bernadino County Sheriff's spokesperson Cindy Bachman said, "the victim and suspect are known to each other," in an email to reporters. 

Johnson is currently being held without bail.
