Twitter CFO Confirms Trump's Ban to Be Upheld Even If He Runs for Office Again

While appearing on CNBC's Squawk Box, Twitter CFO Ned Segal discussed former President Trump's banishment from the platform and whether he'll remain banned if he runs for public office again.

“The way our policies work, when you’re removed from the platform, you’re removed from the platform, whether you’re a commentator, you’re a CFO, or you are a former or current public official," said Segal.

The former president was banned from Twitter following the Jan 6 insurrection at the Capitol Building. Before the rioters laid siege to the Capitol, they gathered to hear a speech from Trump, where his rhetoric was characterized as inciting the insurrection. Following the events of Jan 6, Trump tweeted his support for the mob, telling them he loves them and they're "very special."

"Remember, our policies are designed to make sure that people are not inciting violence,” Segal continued. “And if anybody does that, we have to remove them from the service and our policies don’t allow people to come back."
