Miami Rapper "Baby Cino" Killed Minutes After Being Released from Jail

An aspiring Miami rapper known as Baby Cino was shot and killed just minutes after he was released from jail on Wednesday (March 16). 

According to the Miami Herald, Timothy Starks, who goes by the rap name Baby Cino, posted bond on a gun charge and was released from jail on Wednesday afternoon. After a red Nissan he was riding in got on Palmetto Expressway, another car pulled up and opened fire, fatally wounding Starks. The driver was also wounded in the attack, but he survived. 

Miami police say that the shooter fired at least 40 rounds during the incident, and police are investigating whether the shooting is linked to a string of other shootings that have been gang-related. 

Lil Cino was a rising rapper in his neighborhood. Back in January, he dropped a song called "Big Haiti Shottas," which was dedicated to 18-year-old Gary "Melo" Laguerre, who was killed in a drive-by shooting in 2020 outside a Brownsville market.
