Jonathan Majors Reportedly Dropped from Role as Dennis Rodman in Upcoming Film

Jonathan Majors will no longer portray Dennis Rodman in the upcoming film "48 Hours in Vegas" following his recent guilty verdict for assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend. Deadline reports that another actor will replace Majors, and Lionsgate has officially withdrawn from the project, leaving it in the hands of producers Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Aditya Sood. The film, based on a screenplay by Jordan VanDina, explores the five-time NBA champion's spontaneous trip to Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA Finals between the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz.

Majors' guilty verdict on misdemeanor charges resulted in his removal from various projects, including Marvel Studios, where he portrayed Kang the Conqueror in the Disney+ series "Loki" and the film "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." Kang was slated to become a major villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the 2026 film "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty." Additionally, Majors was dropped from the music biopic "Otis and Zelma" and the Walter Mosley novel adaptation "The Man in My Basement," along with his former management and PR companies. His bodybuilding drama "Magazine Dreams" has been removed from Disney's release schedule. According to film insider Daniel Richtman, Colman Domingo is being considered to take on the significant Kang role in the MCU. The Emmy-winning "Euphoria" star expressed interest in playing a villain in Marvel or DC's cinematic universes in 2022.
