She thought she was going to meet Marshall Mathers in Detroit, but instead, she lost a total of $25,000. How is that possible? The way these scams work is they get your attention and then string you along. They make you believe you are really talking with this star, but it’s really an elaborate scam.

A band of thieves has carried out at least 10 different heists targeting BNSF trains in the Mojave Desert of California and Arizona over the past year, all in the pursuit of Nike sneakers. Since last March, the group has stolen about $2 million worth of shoes. It's like an Old Western movie meets "Ocean's Eleven."  These guys start by slashing an air brake hose on the train, which forces the mile-long line of railcars to come to an abrupt emergency stop. From there, they hop on and go to town on the valuable merch onboard, according to the Los Angeles Times. Egg prices are at an  all-time high  and expected to get even worse for consumers, according to a new U.S. Department of Agriculture projection. The USDA’s  latest outlook  predicts egg prices will increase 41% in 2025 as a widespread  bird flu outbreak  continues to devastate egg-laying chicken flocks. Tuesday’s updated forecast is more than double the 20% jump in egg prices the USDA projected for 2025 a month ago. Egg prices are surging, so why are chicken prices stable?  The bleak outlook stems from the fact that roughly 18.8 million commercial egg layers were affected by Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in January, the highest monthly total since the outbreak began in 2022, the USDA said. Last month, the average price for a dozen eggs  hit a record $4.95 , up from $2.52 a year prior. In some places, a carton of eggs can cost $10 or more. DoorDash has reached an agreement with the New York Attorney General over an old practice wherein the company used customers' tips to subsidize its drivers' pay. As the office of New York AG Letitia James  explained , its investigation had revealed that DoorDash wasn't giving its drivers the tips customers sent them through the app from May 2017 through September 2019. Now, the company will pay $16.75 million in restitution that will be divided between 63,000 drivers. The Attorney General told  The New York Times  that a lot of drivers will receive payments in the low thousands, but some will get as much as $14,000. Within the two-year period mentioned above, the service promised Dashers a guaranteed pay for each delivery. When customers checked out an order, they saw a message that said: "Dashers will always receive 100 percent of the tip." The charges against Shundale Barnett, one of the men tied to Young Dolph's murder case, were dropped just one day after he was arrested. Barnett was initially charged with accessory after the fact, and he was accused of helping his cousin, Justin Johnson, flee Memphis after Young Dolph was murdered. In November, Johnson was convicted of murdering Young Dolph and sentenced to life in prison plus 35 years Both Johnson and Barnett were arrested in a rental car in Indiana in 2021, and as the case unfolded, authorities say it became clear that Barnett was not involved in the murder case. However, due to a clerical issue, the warrant for his arrest was never wiped from the system.
