Google's Chrome remote desktop app will come to iOS as well as Android

The desktop versions of Chrome make it easy to access remote PCs (and Chromebooks ) linked together by your Google account, but this feature hasn't yet made the trek across to Chrome's mobile manifestations. We know that an official Android "Chromoting" app (an early build of which is shown in the screenshot above) has been in the works for a while, and now there's evidence it'll come to iOS too. Radio chatter between Chromium developers reveals that the iOS version is still at an "unpolished" design stage, but it also suggests that a good few devs have it on their to-do lists -- and although we have very little detail about how the final Chromoting app will work, these folks must believe that it'll do something different (or better, or easier) than the hoards of existing alternatives . Twitter removing the 140 character limit from DMs in July

Twitter really wants you to start using Twitter DMs to privately chat with your friends. Of course, when you're chatting with folks, a 140 character limit means you have to span your long messages over multiple posts which sort of kills the flow of a story. But, starting sometime in July, you won't have to worry about that because the company is removing the 140 character limit in DMs. So go ahead, leave long meandering messages to your friends via DMs. The news was dropped by Product Manager for Direct Messages, Sachin Agarwal on the Twitter developer channel. As for regular public facing Twitter, it will still be limited to 140 characters. Engadget

Sprint gives free six-month trial of Tidal HiFi to all new and existing customers

Back in January, Sprint acquired 33% of Jay Z's music streaming service, Tidal. When that happened, the two companies announced that they will be working on providing exclusive content to Sprint customers that subscribe to the service, along with other benefits. Today, the two companies announced what could be the first step of this partnership. All new and existing Sprint customers will be getting free six-month trial to Tidal HiFi, the highest subscription tier the music platform offers, starting June 9. “We recognize that music streaming is one of the most important services for consumers,” said Marcelo Claure, Sprint president and CEO. “More than two-thirds of mobile subscribers stream music an average of 45 minutes per day, making our partnership with TIDAL a natural fit for Sprint and our commitment to offering innovative, affordable and worry-free service. We're providing our customers and anyone who signs up for Sprint a complimentary six-month trial of TIDAL...

Google Maps not only shows you where you're going, but will now show you where you've been

Countless millions rely on Google Maps for turn-by-turn directions on their phone. These directions help navigate people to places where they want to go. But a new feature being added to the application, "Your Timeline," allows users to go back and re-visit routes they've taken on a particular day, month or even year. The feature will work only if you've opted in to have your Google Maps Location History tracked. And keep in mind that only you will be able to see your specific timeline. If there's a part of a specific day where you'd rather not have a Google Maps route recorded for posterity, it can be edited or deleted entirely. "Your Timeline" is available on both mobile and desktop versions of Google Maps. Since Google has already started rolling out the new feature, it might already appear on the Google Maps menu on your phone. Phonearena

Sacramento Kings to wear Google Glass during an upcoming NBA contest against Indiana

With the Sacramento Kings mired in last place, the players and the fans of the team might not have much to look forward to during the second half of the season. We're not talking about LeBron and the Miami Heat here, folks. So to drum up some publicity for the team, it was recently announced that some Kings players will don a pair of Google Glass during an upcoming game. Before you start getting the image in your head of players like Demarcus Cousins running all over the court wearing the connected specs, the players will not be wearing the device while on the floor. The Kings will wear the specs while sitting on the bench. Using technology from CrowdOptic, the fans at Sleep Train Arena will be able to view what players on the bench are seeing by looking at the giant Jumbotron scoreboard. Those not in the arena will be able to view the same images during the television broadcast of the game, and on smartphones. The game chosen for the experiment will be played January 24th in Sacra...

Kanye West Changes Album Title To 'SWISH'

Kanye West has changed the name of his upcoming album from So Help Me God to SWISH. In the past, the rapper has gone back and forth with album titles. His critically acclaimed album, My Dark Twisted Fantasy, was originally named Good A** Job. The rapper also tweeted that he might change the name of the title again, but plans to leave it as SWISH for now. A few of his past tweets about Kim Kardashian were captioned SWISH, perhaps a hint to his fans on what's to come. Source: Twitter | Photo Credit: Splash News
