Shaq Blows Up After LeBron Passes Him on All-Time Scoring List

Image
TNT had a little bit of fun with the idea of Shaq learning that Lebron James had surpassed him on the NBA's all-time scorning list on Thursday, March 30. While on air, O'Neal was nothing but graceful in how he received the event, stating, "I'm happy for LeBron," before recalling having first heard about James as a high school sensation, and traveling to Akron to personally get a look at him dominate in a St. Vincent–St. Mary High School uniform. But the Hall of Famer's temperament when he got back stage at the NBA on TNT studios, was a whole different story. All it took was colleague Dennis Scott to make mention of the big man descending down from 7th to 8th place on the list, to set him off. Nothing in the vicinity was safe from destruction, as Shaq tore through the room smashing and tossing equipment, before hacking at a photo of James that Scott had in his hand. McDonald's planning to switch from frozen to fresh beef

Image
The fast food giant said Thursday that it will swap frozen beef patties for fresh ones in its Quarter Pounder burgers by sometime next year at most of its U.S. locations. Employees will cook up the never-frozen beef on a grill when ordered. That has been the biggest selling point at rival Wendy's. Yet there are larger forces at work that have prompted other menu changes at McDonald's, known for decades more for the billions of people that it has served, rather than its culinary choices. The world's largest hamburger chain for some time has been attempting to improve its image as more people shun processed foods. It has tinkered with its recipes, removed artificial preservatives from chicken McNuggets and it removed high fructose corn syrup from its buns. The company is trying to stem a streak of adverse trends that led to an executive shakeup two years ago. The company brought in Steve Easterbrook as CEO to turn steer the company in a more promising direction. It's...

The NEW Samsung Galaxy S8, coming April 21st

Image
Preorders begin March 30th, three weeks before the release date The Samsung  Galaxy S8  is the nicest phone I’ve ever held. It’s a beautiful combination of glass, metal, and an absolutely massive screen in a body that’s much smaller than you might expect. And that might not be enough to make it stand out anymore. There are two versions of the S8: the standard Galaxy S8 with a 5.8-inch screen and the larger S8 Plus with a 6.2-inch screen. Both are available for preorder on March 30th and will be shipping in the US on April 21st. Pricing, as always with Samsung, is up to the carriers — but you can expect them to command a premium price. The early word is that it will  start at $720 . Here’s everything we learned about these two phones after using them for an hour or two last week. Galaxy S8 hardware Holding the S8, I’m struck by the fact that nothing about it feels especially surprising, and not just because damn near everything abo...

Image
NFL Hall of Famer and legendary Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin was accused of sexually assaulting a 27-year-old woman in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He is currently being investigated as he denies the allegations. On March 21, the woman contacted police after she left a bar with Irvin and went to his hotel room. She reportedly filed a police report because she believes that he drugged and raped her. In a statement sent to TMZ Sports Irvin’s lawyer Larry Friedman responds to the allegations. “Michael was in Ft. Lauderdale visiting his nieces and nephews at a track meet. He was also visiting his 90-year-old aunt and attending her birthday party. He was blindsided by news of these allegations,” he says. “The allegations are completely false. In the few hours since we've learned about them we've already discovered many red flags about this young woman's background and the allegations she made against Michael. Even the complaint that she made specifically says...

Teen Who Threw Her Baby Out of Window Avoids Jail Time

Image
RAntonia Lopez, a 16-year-old girl from Nebraska who admitted to throwing her newborn out a second-floor window, has been sentenced to probation and sent to a group home for causing the baby's death. The judge also told her that she must undergo therapy, delete her Facebook account, and perform community service. According to police, Lopez gave birth Sept. 30 at her mother's apartment in Omaha, Nebraska, tossed the child out the window, then told her mom. The mother told police she immediately went down and found the baby, called 911 and began CPR. The child was pronounced dead at a hospital. An autopsy determined the baby was delivered prematurely at about seven months and weighed about two pounds, but she was born alive and died of head injuries sustained from the fall. The teen was initially charged as an adult with one count of felony child abuse resulting in death and could have faced 20 years to life in prison if convicted. Lopez reportedly admitted to the crime in Febr...

20 Years After "Slim Shady EP," Eminem's Daughter Hailie is All Grown Up

Image
Eminem first introduced the world to his daughter Hailie in the controversial song "Just the Two of Us," from his 1997 debut  The Slim Shady EP . A little more than a year later, the song appeared retitled (to "97 Bonnie and Clyde"), on Eminem's major-label debut,  The Slim Shady LP.  In the song, Hailie's infantile voice offers a startling counterweight to the macabre imagery of Eminem's lyrics about killing his ex-wife and dumping her body in the ocean. 20 years later, Hailie is a successful young adult enrolled at Michigan State University. She's active on social media, and her dad seems to stay out of her way. View images from her Instagram account above. Source:  instagram.com Via vladtv

Michigan Agrees to Spend $87 Million to Replace Flint's Poisonous Lead Pipes

Image
The State of Michigan has allotted $87 million of federal and state funds to replace thousands of contaminated lead pipes throughout Flint, whose residents have been exposed to lead-tainted water for more than a year. The proposal, if approved, would settle a lawsuit brought by Flint residents against the city. It would also require the state to provide free bottled water and begin a program of water testing. The deal aims to replace thousands of pipes in and around Flint homes by the year 2020. A federal judge is expected to review the proposal on Tuesday. Source:  nytimes.com Via vladtv

Lonzo Ball Confirms That He Is Headed for The NBA

Image
College basketball freshman phenom Lonzo Ball declared for the NBA Draft following his UCLA Bruins elimination from the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament on Friday, March 24. "That was my final game for UCLA, and I appreciate all the fans and all the support," Ball said after the Bruins' 86-75 loss to Kentucky. While his 10 point, 8 assists performance couldn't have done much to wow the professionals checking out the future prospect, especially considering he was outplayed by De'Aaron Fox, who scored 39, the attention was all Ball's as it has been for much of the NCAA season. The 6'5" guard was widely speculated to have a one and done campaign with the university, with father LaVar Ball talking his son up at the heights of sports media attention. He completes his NCAA career having averaged 14.7 points and 7.6 assists per game. Source:  vladtv

Diddy Recalls B.I.G. Struggling With 6 Month Long Writer's Block

Image
With Saturday [March 25] marking the 20th anniversary of the 1997 release of Notorious B.I.G's posthumous Life After Death album, memories of the late rap great naturally came to surface for those who lived through it's recording with him. The man most notably involved throughout the process, P. Diddy, opened up for an exclusive with his REVOLT TV platform and shared what it was like leading up to the project. B.I.G. and the Bad Boy family had been celebrating success, as arguably hip hop's most elite entity, following a series of cross-genre hip hop and r&b hits and remixes. The Brooklyn rapper's niche was already carved in the game courtesy of his Ready To Die debut and the Junior M.A.F.I.A clique he kept busy featuring alongside were bubbling with the release of their Conspiracy LP. B.I.G. was next up, and with the expectations sky high for him to follow up on a sensational entrance into the game, the pressure apparently weighed heavy, impacting his creative pro...

It's only fitting the Black Mamba salutes the young star given his 70 points is the most in an NBA game since Kobe himself dropped 81 on the raptors back in 2006. Vladtv
