DeMarcus Cousins Signs One-Year Deal with the Houston Rockets
According to reports, Boogie Cousins has agreed to a deal with the Houston Rockets. The one-year contract was signed at the veteran's minimum and is non-guaranteed. When Marc Spears of The Undefeated reached out to Boogie after the news broke, the four-time All-Star said, "Grateful for the opportunity and excited for what's ahead."
Yahoo Sports Chris Haynes reported that "Cousins worked out for the Houston Rockets today and impressed the organization, quelling any health concerns. He’s as hungry as ever." Cousins was waived by the Lakers back in February before he could ever make his LA debut. Boogie tore his ACL before the start of last season and could not make it back on the floor to play during the Lakers' championship run.
Over the course of his career, Boogie averaged 21.2 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. He did this while shooting 46.1 percent from the field and 33.2 percent from three.
