The NBA's reigning MVP, Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder has signed a five-year contract extension with $205 million. The contract will start with the 2018 to 2019 season and is currently the biggest guaranteed contract in NBA History. Westbrook's contract will be six seasons and $233 million through the 2022-23 season. Westbrook signed the Designated Player Veteran Extention will allow for 35 percent of the salary cap and an additional 5 seasons. In total Russ will earn $233 million through the 2022-23 season if you include the $28 million from his 2017-18 season salary. Fiancee of the late Aaron Hernandez, Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, has filed a lawsuit against the NFL on behalf of their 4-year-old daughter Avielle Janelle. The lawsuit comes in light of results from a study of his brain that informed Hernandez's estate that he was suffering from a severe case of CTE at the time of his suicide. Jenkins-Hernandez is claiming that Hernandez was stricken with CTE during his three-year career with the New England Patriots and that the league is responsible for having exposed him to the threat of the neurodegenerative brain disorder. "The NFL had made certain representations to players during this time that Aaron was playing (2010 to 2012) and those representations turned out to be false," attorney for Hernandez's estate, Jose Baez said while announcing the $20 million suit. Nearly half of Americans may have had their personal information compromised in a data breach at Equifax, one of the largest credit monitoring agencies in the country. The Atlanta-based company said Thursday it had been hit by a high-tech heist. The theft obtained consumers' names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and, in some cases, driver's license numbers. That data can be enough for crooks to steal an identity. The Equifax CEO has apologized and reassured the thieves have not yet done anything malicious with the information. However, that doesn't mean we're all in the clear. "We have to assume that all of our information has already been compromised. An alleged Instagram post by Quantasia Sharpton, the woman suing Usher for allegedly exposing her to herpes, was making the rounds over the weekend. The posts claimed that Sharpton was $2 million richer made many people believe that Usher settled out of court with Sharpton. However, Lisa Bloom, Sharpton's lawyer, denied the posts, saying that they're fake. Detroit's very own Tee Grizzley was stopped by TMZ to get his take on his hometown NFL squad, the Detroit Lions, signing quarterback Matthew Stafford to a contract worth $135 million. Stafford will enter the 2017 season with the largest (for now) contract in NFL history with the 5-year $135 million deal including $92 million guaranteed. Tee Grizzley wasn't shy about showing his support for Stafford who threw for 4,327 yards with 24 touchdowns, and a QB rating of 93.3. Grizzley said it's about time someone in Detroit cashed in on a contract that large, and even suggested this is a sign of a citywide turn around for Detroit.

According to a report from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Chicago Bulls guard Dwyane Wade could be severing ties with his hometown team to either rejoin the Miami Heat or head to Los Angeles. Jackson cites close associates to Wade as tipping him off to Wade's possible destinations. It was reported in August that Wade was considering teaming up with his long time friend and former teammate LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, these most recent reports throw a wrench in a move everyone thought was inevitable. A 28-year-old aspiring pastor in Raleigh, NC is currently in jail on charges of murder after allegedly killing his wife after taking too much cough medicine. Matthew Phelps called 911 after waking up to see his 29-year-old wife "dead on the floor" telling the dispatcher, "I had a dream and then I turned on the lights and she's dead on the floor." He continued, "I have blood all over me and there's a bloody knife on the bed." Phelps went on to tell the dispatcher that he has trouble sleeping and takes medicine to aid that issue. DETROIT, MI – A young man in his late twenties to early thirties was shot and killed Friday evening, September 1st, 2017 near W 7 Mile Rd and Pierson Street in Detroit. Those who knew and loved him are identifying him as Lil Kevin, who drove a Dodge Durango, was gunned down at about 9:30 Friday evening. Many on social media are in disbelief that this could have happened to someone who seemed to be doing well for himself. It is unknown what lead up to the shooting. Some have indicted that the incident could have been motivated by jealousy of some type. It is not known if any suspects have been taken into custody in this tragic murder. The social network created a data map of the human population by combining government census numbers, information obtained from satellite images, and Facebook's image recognition neural network. They can now locate every single man-made structure to within just five meters. Now, why was this map created? The company told CNBC that it will help them figure out which types of internet service, based either on land, in the air or in space, they can use to get good internet service to people currently living in areas with poor connections. SEGA recently added another title of its mobile game collection, Golden Axe. The legendary game is now part of SEGA Forever initiative and can be downloaded for free via Google Play Store. Golden Axe is a side-scrolling beat'em up that's also pretty difficult when you're not playing on easy mode. The good news is SEGA has added a couple of gameplay features that haven't been included in the original game. The most important is a new duel mode that puts players in the position of facing off wave after wave of enemies. On top of that, SEGA promised to add a multiplayer mode at some point in the future. Unfortunately, since the game uses a Unity emulator, you'll most likely notice some lagging, which is inexcusable for when SEGA adds the multiplayer mode. Various agencies have given different cost estimates for how much in damage they project Hurricane Harvey was responsible for, but what has remained consistent is how each new number matches or surpasses the $108 million record set by Katrina in 2005. Most recently AccuWeather reported that experts are now envisioning the storm's damage running $190 billion out of the pockets of donors and tax payers. That is over $80 billion more than Moody Analytics calculated and what $30 billion more than what AccuWeather first imagined the damages would turn out to be earlier this week. In historical terms, it is a number that surpasses both hurricanes Katrina and Sandy combined. Authorities are investigating the actions of a gun toting mom during an argument that escalated into a fight in the back-to-school section of a Michigan Walmart this past week. Detectives from the Novi Police Department have spent the past few days looking over a cell phone camera recording taken on Monday [August 28] at the Novi Towne Center store. They have also made the footage available to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, as it shows the moments that tensions from a dispute over the last notebook on a shelf boil over. A 32-year-old Farmington Hills woman had been shopping for school supplies for her children with her 46-year-old mother in her company. According to the police report, the conflict began when a 20-year-old woman from South Lyons happened to reach for the notebook at the same exact time as the Farmington Hills woman. First day jitters, we have all been there. As the weather begins to cool down and the leaves begin to change colors, we know that means fall is around the corner at the beginning of school shortly thereafter. Some people are better equipped than others to deal with these jitters, and this video is proof of that. High school freshman J'ia Gladney of Mesquite, Texas had a hilarious meltdown on her first day of school. Her mother, Crystal Alexander, recorded the ordeal on camera and posted it to Facebook. In the video, Alexander can be heard telling her daughter to 'breathe' and 'calm down' as N'ia is crying hysterically at the idea of walking into school alone. While amused, Alexander had to drop off are the children of their own school so she made sure that her T'ia knew going to school wasn't optional. Watch the video  here .

Earlier this week, we reported that Donald Trump planned on donating $1 million of his own money toward relief efforts from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. Trump was part of a slew of other celebrities who generously donated after Harvey saw that floods rose to as high as 15 feet and killing at least 40. On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters she hadn't 'had a chance' to ask the President if his donation would be from his personal account or via the Trump Foundation. This is a complete backtrack from yesterday when the White House assured reporters that the donation would come from his 'personal money'. If Trump chooses to use his own money, it would represent a break from his previous actions in recent years, when he made donations to his own Trump Foundation. With the trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics now finalized, reports have surfaced that Isaiah Thomas' physical has 'cooled' the excitement of LeBron and Coach Tyronn Lue. The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor reported a league source as saying, "as news spread throughout the organization that Thomas could miss time deep into the upcoming season, James and Lue cooled on the deal."
