Last week, a 33 year old man was found brutally murdered, decomposing in a trash bag. Police have reason to believe this may have been done in retaliation for the man "snitching" on three men who robbed him two years ago. Jamaica, Queens native Quynton Ross didn't come home that Sunday night, and his mother used the "Find My iPhone" app to track him down. It showed he was on a boardwalk in the Rockaways and she immediately notified police. After discovering his body, police found a rap video on YouTube containing vital information for solving the case. In other words, the culprits "snitched" on themselves. Love & Hip Hop star Lil Scrappy is calling racism on a salon that refused to serve his family on his daughter's birthday. Scrappy told TMZ that he made the appointment far in advance and put down a down payment for their space and services. His plan was to treat his daughter to a fresh hair style and throw her a birthday party at the high-end salon for children. Scrappy, his child's mother Erica Dixon and their daughter arrived 20 minutes late and the salon refused to let them in the building. When Scrappy complained and told the staff that he'd already made a down payment, he says the staff running the salon (who happened to be white) allegedly told him they didn't want to serve "you people." Scrappy refused to leave without a refund and the cops were called. They were able to get him half of his money on the spot and the salon agreed to mail him the rest by check at a later date. SoyaCincau  has  learned  that Samsung's jack-of-all-trades Android flagship includes a "baby crying detector" mode that uses the phone as a listening station. If your child is upset, the GS5 sends a vibrating alert to your Gear watch  (needed for the feature) that urges you to come to Junior's aid. You probably wouldn't want to lean on the detector too often -- Samsung certainly doesn't think it's a wise idea, as you can see from the massive legal disclaimer pictured here. Still, it could come in handy if you don't have a dedicated monitor  and occasionally want to keep tabs on your tyke while you run around the home. Engadget 

Georgia man Clinton Ward, 49 was arrested for beating up his stepdaughter's boyfriend after discovering the two had taken a shower together. Ward was not home when the teen couple stepped in the shower, according to the stepdaughter's statement to police. Ward told police when he got home, he initially thought his stepdaughter was on the speakerphone. When the couple exited the shower, they were greeted by Ward on the couch, who pushed his stepdaughter to the side and began beating the still naked teen boy, slamming him against the wall and repeatedly punching him in the face and chest. Ward then called 911 himself to report that the unknown teen was in the apartment. Ward admitted to punching the teen. He was then arrested for "maliciously causing a child under the age of 18 cruel, excessive or mental pain" as well as for "allowing a child under the age of 18 to witness the assault." After a lengthy two-year  legislative process , the UK is nearly ready to drag its copyright law into the digital era. The country's Intellectual Property Office has  published  the final version of copyright exceptions that make it legal to rip CDs and otherwise  shift formats . As of June 1st, Brits can copy media as much as they like for personal use. Institutions can also make duplicates for backups or research, and the Secretary of State can tell copyright holders to make content accessible if paying for an alternative format isn't practical. Out-and-out piracy is still forbidden, of course, but the new measures should let locals modernize their media collections without feeling a twinge of guilt. Engadget 

The highly popular rap group Migos was involved in a very serious shootout early Thursday morning, March 28th, after shots were fired at their party bus around 3:30 a.m.  They were scheduled to perform at the Cafe Iguana in Pembroke Pines, FL, but a dispute of some sort occurred between the group and the club's management which prevented them from performing as planned.   Thee group wound up making an exit from Cafe Iguana around 3:30 a.m. and entered a party bus along with five members of their entourage, to make for eight passengers in total.  While travelling down I-95 close to the 62nd Street Exit, a car pulled up next to their party bus and opened fire with a barrage of lethal bullets.  The scene was reminiscent of an old school Wild West movie, as one of the individuals on the Migos party bus just so happened to have a gun in his/her possession and fired back at the assailants.  According to Florida Highway Patrol's Lt. 19 year old Carl Richardson was fatally stabbed at a Queens barbershop over payment for headphones he intended to sell to his attacker. Richardson and 34 year old barber Cedric Simpson met up at Select Stylez Barbershop in Laurelton, Queens and agreed to a pre-negotiated price of $40-$50 for a pair of headphones. Richardson agreed to let Simpson hold the headphones with instructions to come back to the barbershop the next day to receive payment. Upon arrival, Simpson didn't have, or didn't want to pay, the money and refused to give the headphones back, resulting in a fight between the two. Other barbers and patrons broke up the fight, but an "enraged" Simpson continued to attack the teen, stabbing him in the stomach multiple times with a pair of barber scissors. Richardson was pronounced dead at Franklin Hospital in Long Island and Simpson was charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Source:  DailyNews

No SMART bus service after 2015? That's not what the company's 2014 budget says, and some local leaders simply don't believe it. Local passenger Shamika Hatcher relies on several SMART buses to get from Southfield to Oakland University in Rochester. "I'd be messed up," Hatcher said, when asked about what would happen if SMART buses stopped running. In fact, Hatcher pays a $2.25 fare for a ride. "I've taken a cab to school, (I'm) not trying to do that again," Hatcher said. But the General Manager of SMART is making the rounds to Macomb, Oakland and Wayne Counties with an alarming warning: The buses will stop running after 2015 if SMART doesn't get a tax hike. According to the Daily Star newspaper, Kanye West is buying bride-to-be Kim Kardashian 10 Burger King restaurants throughout Europe as a wedding gift. Yeezy's not new to the restaurant game -- he owns several Fatburger bistros in Chicago already. "As always, Kanye is thinking outside the box when it comes to gifts for Kim," a source told the newspaper. ''She owns all the jewels anyone could ever want, so he is taking the practical route by investing in businesses for her instead. The Detroit Public Schools is offering free computer training workshops for district parents. March 28 is the deadline to register for the workshops which will be held April 2-3 and April 9-10. The district says parents will be taught essential computer skills and how to use portals like Gaggle and Parent Connect to monitor student academic progress from home. Course offerings will be in English and Spanish. April is technology month in Detroit Public Schools. Nicki Minaj set the music world ablaze with her latest hit single, "Lookin A** N*ggas," but fellow YMCMB rapper Lil Wayne thinks Nicki could've stepped it up a notch. During an interview with MTV, Wayne played the role of a tough critic when asked about Nicki's new single.  "Nicki never fails to amaze with anything she do. Honestly, I'm a tough judge, and I'm the boss. So I kinda be like, 'Yeah, that's nice, but you can do better.' But that's what I tell myself everyday." In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid's Shade 45 Young Thug announced the title to his debut album. The "Danny Glover" rapper announced his debut album will be named The Carter VI. The rapper explains that Lil Wayne is the reason behind the name. "It's called The Carter IV," he said. "I just feel like I'm that ni**a because after 'The Carter V' he's [Wayne] not making anymore music like that and I feel I can.' Lil Wayne has been a big influence on the rapper. As shooting resumes on the Fast & Furious 7 set, sources are revealing that producers plan to keep Paul Waker in the film-with the help of CGI. According to Gawker, filming was almost at the halfway mark when Walker died in a car accident during a break from filming last year. Producers are using 4 body doubles for movement and his face and voice will be added with CGI. Other films that have include the feature are Cloverfelid, Tron: Legacy and many animated films. Producers believe that the fans would appreciate their efforts in keeping the leading actor in the series. A release from Universal about the film claimed that Walker would be in the film, but never revealed how. "Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of 'Fast & Furious 7,' which will be released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 2015," the studio had said in a statement. LG isn't about to let household heavyweights like  Philips  corner the connected lighting space -- it just unveiled  the Smart Lamp, its first take on the concept. The 10W LED bulb gives Android and iOS users a familiar level of control over their illumination, including a light-based alarm clock and a security mode that pretends you're at home. There are a couple of noteworthy tricks in this initial offering, however. The light connects through both Bluetooth and WiFi, letting it pull the sync-based stunts we've seen in a few  other bulbs : it can flash when you get a phone call, or (with Android) pulse to the beat of the music. The Smart Lamp is more expensive than ordinary LEDs at 35,000 won ($32) in LG's native Korea, but it could be a good deal if you don't need the many-colored lighting of Hue and similar systems. Opening day is here! ...sort of. This year's quest for a World Series ring kicks off Down Under today, with the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks squaring off at the Sydney Cricket Ground (yes, they're still playing baseball). Of course, everyone else is still playing Spring Training games until the weekend of March 31st. But Major League Baseball is making sure all of its  mobile app  ducks are in a row ahead of time. In particular its  Windows Phone MLB at Bat app  is getting a long overdue update for the 2014 season. Now you can get live pitch-by-pitch tracking for games and set up push notifications for scores and news. Those features have been available on iOS and Android for quite sometime now, so this is less a major step forward and more about  feature parity . But still, we're sure those that fall in the middle of the baseball and windows phone fan venn diagram are extremely happy. Engadget 

Indiana Pacers player Paul George may have fell for the oldest trick in the book. According to Complex, the NBA player sent photos of himself to a young woman who posted them online. As it turns out, the thick Caucasian woman is actually a gay man named "Paul" who posts the pics on his tumblr page, Bgciamdatruth. Burger King, the perennial Pepsi to McDonald's Coke, is technologizing with a mobile app. But before you get out the pitchforks and cry "diabetes! laziness! obesity!," it's important we mention that this app, set to launch in limited locations next month with a nationwide rollout shortly after, is not like Seamless. That is, you can't order Burger King for delivery -- not yet, anyway. As  Bloomberg  reports, this Burger King mobile app comes by way of Tillster, a company dedicated to facilitating digital ordering for  big name fast food clients  like KFC, Subway and Pizza Hut. The app's more a virtual wallet than anything at this point, letting users pay for orders by adding funds to a virtual card. Although, the company has stated there's potential for new features to be added at a later date, like placing an order for pick-up (yes, really). As a mobile payment option, the BK app's not all that compelling of an idea, until you factor in the accessible

Battery-saving software on a phone tends to have all the subtlety of a sledgehammer -- it either waits until you're  low on power  to do anything, or limits functionality  at all times. Apple may eventually take a smarter approach, if a newly published  patent application  is any indication. The technique would optimize your mobile device's power consumption based on both your daily activities and charging patterns. If your iPhone doesn't get much use during working hours, for instance, it could automatically throttle down for that period. The technology also adjusts power for specific events; check into a long flight and your phone will conserve battery while you're in the air. We don't know if Apple will ever use this energy-saving technology, but the patent is grounded more firmly in reality than  others we've seen . Engadget

Sprint isn't content to  keep writing  its financial statements  in red ink . To that end, the company is shuttering 150 service and repair centers, 55 of its lowest performing retail stores and laying off some 330 repair techs.  A handful  of  call centers  have been closed, too. While these might seem troubling, the outfit's Mark Bonavia  tells CNET   that the  pre-planned cuts  were made with the idea of "minimal disturbance" to the customer in mind. What does that even mean? Well, if a local store can't service your phone, you'll be referred to a sister location that's within a 45-minute drive. This likely isn't a perfect situation for everyone, but hey,  Softbank  needs to free up money for that  T-Mobile acquisition  somehow. Engadget

Head of the Kardashian clan Kris Jenner is now battling her own issues in a recent extortion plot. A man claiming to have a sex tape of Jenner is willing to return the video back in return of a heftly payout.  According to GlobalGrind, Jenner didn't take any of the man's threats to heart until he called her over a hundred times from various phone numbers in just a week. Oprah Winfrey has parted ways with the production studio show opened up back in 1990, selling it for a cool $32 million to Sterling Bay. After the sale is finalized, O will still have use of the studio for the next two years to produce programming for OWN. Harpo revealed the news to Crain's Chicago Business in a statement: “We have entered into a purchasing agreement with Sterling Bay for the four-building Harpo Studios campus in Chicago’s West Loop. Former Grand Hustle artist DG Yola has been charged with murder. According to the AJC, the rapper born Mario Talley, is a suspect in a string of shootings in the northwest Atlanta area that left two men injured and one man dead. Talley was arrested Friday and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and attempted robbery. Police believe that Talley shot and killed Rodney Walker last Sunday in the Daron Village Apartments on Harwell Road. Police found his body behind the apartment building with multiple gunshot wounds. The rapper, who had a minor hit with 2006's "Ain't Goin Let Up," is currently being held in a Fulton County Jail. Source:  AJC 

Turk is readying his new album, "Mission Possible," for the same release date as his fellow Hot Boy Lil Wayne, who's set to drop the final installment of his "Carter" albums. When asked about the situation, Turk told SOHH that it's a good idea for hip-hop.  "Somebody had tweeted and said, 'You and Lil Wayne are dropping on the same day.' I was like, 'Cool.' I think it's a good thing for hip-hop and all of the Hot Boys for us to drop the same day."  After suggesting that both albums compete on "106 & Park," Turk added, "I just feel like my album, Mission Possible, is strictly about my life and everything that I've been through. I just believe a lot of people are going to be able to relate and understand not just Hot Boy Turk but who Turk is. It's me. I'm giving them me."  The album has a projected release date set for May 5th, and has features from 2 Chainz, YG, and possibly other big names.  &

"Twerk Queen" Jhonni Blaze, real name Jzapal Jackson has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of her boyfriend, Brian Washington back in December. According to Hollywood Street King, she was wanted for questioning about the crime and fled to Atlanta "to avoid being questioned by homicide detectives." This lead to a warrant being issued for her arrest and she was officially charged with being a "Fugitive From Justice" which can be seen on her paperwork, along with her mug shot above.
