Elon Musk’s plan to democratize Twitter verification lasted less than two days. Twitter has temporarily pulled new signups for Twitter Blue after the platform was overrun by verified trolls. The company  told  staffers subscriptions were on hold to “help address impersonation issues,” according to  Platformer’s  Zoe Schiffer. It turns out paid verification was as much of a mess as nearly everyone  predicted. At first, it seemed as if Twitter had a plan to address the impersonation issue. Just ahead of the rollout of the new Twitter Blue, It introduced a separate  “official”  badge that would be appended to “government accounts, commercial companies, business partners, major media outlets, publishers and some public figures.” But Musk quickly changed his mind, and  killed  the idea just a few hours after it was announced. Kevin Conroy, Voice of Batman, Dead at 66 By  Greta Bjornson Kevin Conroy , who voiced Batman in multiple shows over the years, has died. He was 66. Conroy’s death was announced by Diane Pershing, the voice of the DC character Poison Ivy, and confirmed by publicist Gary Miereanu, who said the actor had died Thursday (Nov. 10) after a “short battle with cancer.” “Very sad news : our beloved voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, died yesterday. He’s been ill for a while but he really put in a lot of time at the cons, to the joy of all of his fans. According to reports, legendary West Coast rap veteran  Snoop Dogg  has a biopic in the works. The feature film is said to be in its pre-production phase, and it is being developed by the same Hollywood studio that presented the public with  Straight Outta Compton  back in 2015. While a title for the upcoming film has not been revealed as of yet, fans of urban American films will see a very familiar face when the credits roll.  Allen Hughes , the co-director of the cult-classic  Menace II Society , is set to lead the charge, while the Emmy-nominated screenwriter, Joe Robert Cole, will co-write the script with Snoop Dogg.  Snoop Dogg's debut album,  Doggystyle , was released back in 1993, and it is considered one of the greatest rap albums of all time. In the wake of Kanye West's controversial fallout with Adidas, the company's brand's Chief Financial Officer Harm Ohlmeyer recently announced their intentions to move forward with the 'Yeezy' line of footwear without the co-creator of the product, claiming that they still hold the rights to the designs and color combinations. “adidas is the sole owner of all design rights registered to existing product,” Ohlmeyer said. “We intend to make use of these rights as early as 2023. We are working through all the options. When the time is right we will be more specific The announcement comes after the revelation that Adidas is expected to lose about $250 million in revenues upon severing ties with Kanye West behind his anti-Semitic comments. Delonte West's  emotional road to redemption has captured the public in ways that similar instances from other celebrities simply have not. The highs and lows of this comeback story have seen the former NBA player receive help from the owner of the Dallas Mavericks to get back on his feet, a tryout with the Big3 basketball league, and numerous arrests. Unfortunately for the 39-year-old, the latest instances in his quest to get clean include two arrests in as many weeks.  On October 29th, Delonte West was arrested by the Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia for public intoxication. The 11-year NBA veteran was apprehended by police officers for a similar offense just two weeks prior. 

According to TMZ, Tierra Whack was arrested in her hometown of Philly after bringing a loaded gun into the Philadelphia International Airport on Tuesday (November 8).  Tierra's bag was being searched by Homeland Security officials, who found a loaded gun with 6 live rounds in the magazine and none in the chamber. TMZ reports that authorities believe that Tierra mistakenly brought the gun into the airport, and it was noted that she is licensed to carry a gun in Philadelphia.

Reports surfaced noting rapper Hurricane G passed away at age 52. The rapper was known for her work with Erick Sermon and the Def Squad/Hit Squad camp, and Erick Sermon confirmed the news.  Hurricane G, born Gloria Rodriguez, made appearances on songs and albums from Redman, Keith Murray, Xzibit, and more, including Puff Daddy. Rodriguez appeared on the Bad Boy leader’s single “Public Enemy 2000,” which included a massive Spanish remix. The news of Rodriguez’s passing was confirmed by Erick Sermon, a collaborator, and father of her child. Via Instagram, Sermon said, “My heart is hardened today. One of my good friends…. my oldest daughter’s mother, passed away today #HURRICANEGLORIA was also a legend in her own right in the Hip-hop community. One of the first Puerto Rican female rappers. According to a report from The Blast, Xzibit is  being sued by his ex-wife Krista Joiner  for allegedly breaking a verbal promise to take care of her financially for the rest of her life.  Joiner sued the rapper and cannabis business owner, claiming he hasn’t honored their agreement despite the promise. The lawsuit claims that X promised to provide financial support as long as she remained a homemaker. Krista claims she held up her side, but the rapper hasn’t.The lawsuit claimed that Xzibit pushed to take care of Krista’s finances if she decided to seek employment outside of her house. Because of that, Krista believes she should be paid for being a “confidant, companion, social and business partner, homemaker, housekeeper and consultant to Defendant in connection with financial and family matters.” The suit said that once their relationship ended, any property acquired or businesses established by the rapper during their relationship “would be divided equally between them.”

Texas furniture store owner Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale  put down $10 million earlier this year on a bet for the Houston Astros to win the MLB World Series. Since then, the Astros won the world series against the Philadelphia Phillies, resulting in Mattress Mack netting a $75 million payout.  Initially, Mack’s bet started with $3 million, which he placed on Caesars Sportsbook’s mobile app. Over the summer, the man added $7 million in bets for the Astros to succeed. Despite the win, McIngvale won’t be keeping all the money. The furniture store owner offered a deal to customers of his store, saying he would refund any customer who spent $3,000 or more on furniture double their money back if the Astros were able to win the world series. In 2018, Safaree Samuels was robbed at gunpoint for a large amount of jewelry . The robbers made off with about $183,000 worth of jewelry from the reality TV star in an incident that left him traumatized. Since then, the robbers were apprehended, and it was revealed that one of the men was Shawn Harewood, a childhood friend of Samuels. Reports noted that Harewood was given a massive sentence for his role in the 2018 robbery that took place in New Jersey.  In July 2022, a jury convicted Harewood on three counts of robbery, eluding, and resisting arrest. The prosecution established that Harewood set up the robbery, but he was not guilty of robbing Samuels’ friend, weapons charges, and conspiracy to commit robbery.Judge Gary Wilcox sentenced the man to 18 years in prison for playing a part in stealing $180,000 worth of jewelry from the reality star, with his years behind bars running consecutively. A few weeks ago,  former NBA player Ben Gordon was arrested on robbery charges  only hours after making bail for punching his child in the face with a closed fist. Now, reports surfaced noting Gordon was arrested after allegedly punching a security guard at McDonald’s.  The 39-year-old was arrested around 3:30 am in Chicago on Friday, and was escorted out of the McDonald’s after hitting a 29-year-old guard in the face. Also, Gordon threw him to the ground, along with another security guard. Chicago PD noted Gordon was arrested and charged with two counts of misdemeanor battery due to the alleged altercation. According to reports, singer and rapper Aaron Carter died at the age of 34. The artist was found dead while at his home in Lancaster, California. Law enforcement sources say they received a 911 call around 11 am on Saturday saying a man drowned in the bathtub.  As of now, it hasn’t been noted if there was any foul play involved. Kyrie Irving recently  apologized for his anti-semitic social media posts last week. The NBA star said, “To All Jewish families and Communities that are hurt and affected from my post, I am deeply sorry to have caused you pain, and I apologize. I initially reacted out of emotion to being unjustly labeled Anti-Semitic, instead of focusing on the healing process of my Jewish Brothers and Sisters that were hurt from the hateful remarks made in the Documentary.” Now, news surfaced noting that the Nets had no plans of letting go of Irving, despite rumors of the player possibly participating in his last game with the team.  Reporter Nick Friedell took to Twitter and said, “Sean Marks says Kyrie’s apology last night was a good first step, but the organization wants him to take some more steps — including meeting with Jewish leaders — before playing for the Nets again.” Friedell continued, “Marks said the organization never considered releasing Kyrie.

As the hip-hop world still grapples with Takeoff's senseless murder, some of the elder statesmen of the culture are speaking up to help rappers redirect how they move in an increasingly hostile environment for them, in particular.  Master P issued a statement via Instagram on Tuesday where he sent out his condolences to the family and close friends of Takeoff but made an interesting plea with rappers within his larger message. For Master P, there isn't any shame in working with police if it means that it will ensure the rapper's safety. The No Limit Records founder said that living long requires one to switch up how they move and this generation should begin moving according to the hostility they face in the world as opposed to presenting a street image that only breeds further danger. 

The Brooklyn Nets find themselves in quite the whirlwind as the team continues to drop games in this early part of the 2022-23 season. On Tuesday, news broke that the Nets were letting go of head coach Steve Nash and a search for his replacement would begin immediately.  Nets star forward Kevin Durant told reporters after Tuesday's loss to the Chicago Bulls that he wasn't privy to the move prior to it making headlines. According to Durant, he learned of Nash's firing after waking up from a nap. While it's plausible, it seems less likely that Durant had no idea of Nash's eventual firing considering that called for Nash's job earlier this summer at a time that he demanded to be traded if the coach and GM were to remain.
