Stylist Says Justin Timberlake Set Up Super Bowl Incident w/ Janet Jackson

Image
Celebrity stylist Wayne Scot Lukas claims that Justin Timberlake pushed for Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" at the 2004 Super Bowl in an attempt to overshadow his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears kissing Madonna and Christina Aguilera at the MTV VMAs. The stylist told Page Six that Timberlake "insisted on doing something bigger than their performance. He wanted a reveal."  Scot Lucas stated that the original idea for the show involved a pearl g-string, stating, "Janet was going to be in a Rocha dress, and [Justin] was going to step on the back of her dress to reveal her butt in this pearl G-string. He added that "the outfit changed a couple of days before, and you saw the magic."  Scot Lucas denied Timberlake's claims that there was a "wardrobe malfunction," adding, "I wouldn’t call it a wardrobe 'malfunction' in a million years. It was the most functioning wardrobe in history. As a stylist, it did what it

Kid Cudi Goes Viral After Wearing Off-White Dress During 'SNL' Performance

Image
Kid Cudi recently made an appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ where the artist ran through multiple songs from his latest album. During one of the songs, the artist was seen rocking a maxi floral-patterned sundress reportedly made by Off-White. The outfit choice rocked by Cudi was reportedly a tribute to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who passed away at the age of 27 on April 5, after committing suicide. Cudi’s dress is a reference to a floral dress worn by Cobain on a 1993 cover of The Face magazine, which was put out a year before his passing. Cudi also paid homage to the late Chris Farley—an ‘SNL’ cast member and comedian who passed away from a drug overdose at the age of 33. Take a look at Cudi’s fit above. source: Page Six.

Sony wants to bring 'popular' PlayStation game franchises to phones

Image
Sony hasn't done much with PlayStation game franchises unless you count one-offs like  Uncharted: Fortune Hunter , but that might change soon.  Eurogamer  has  noticed  that Sony is  hiring  an executive at PlayStation Studios that would focus on bringing PlayStation's "most popular franchises" to mobile. While the listing unsurprisingly doesn't mention titles or timeframes, the new Head of Mobile would develop a three- to five-year strategy. The company has a long history of trying to meld the PlayStation brand with phones, albeit without much success. Aside from a small number of games, Sony's best-known effort is the  Xperia Play  — a "PlayStation phone" that was ahead of its time (witness gaming phones like the  ROG Phone 5 ) but a commercial flop. The PlayStation Mobile name is better-associated with PC ports like  Horizon Zero Dawn . It's not hard to see why Sony would pursue mobile. It could bring the PlayStation brand to a muc

Image
According to reports, the ex-NFL player Phillip Adams who killed five people and himself in South Carolina on Thursday will have his brain studied for CTE.  Adams's family gave doctors the green light to examine his brain and determine whether or not he had CTE. Some believe that he could've developed it early on as a result of getting hit. “He could have been taking hits all the time [and] only wound up with only one or two concussions, but the cumulative hits he has taken is so many that it could have made him develop a degenerative brain disease,” said Dr. Hallie Zwibel, the director of New York Institute of Technology’s Center for Sports Medicine.  “It really affects people to an enormous degree in their ability to enjoy relationships and friendships, to really function in the world. They get very frustrated, understandably, with the deficits that they’re having,” he concluded.  Source:  nypost.com

Samsung drops the price of the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G by $200

Image
Samsung  has cut the price of the  Galaxy Z Fold2 5G  by $200, meaning the foldable now  starts at $1,800.  You can save more through a trade-in program or a referral code from someone who already has a Galaxy Z Fold2 5G or Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Punching in a valid code will reduce the price by another $100. Referral codes are also good for the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, which Samsung discounted  by $250 in February . That phone now starts at $1,200. Samsung is expected to push deeper into the foldables market this year, so offering discounts on the most recent models now is a logical move. The SmartTag+, which has ultra-wideband support for more precise location tracking, will ship on April 12th.

NYPD Prohibits Vehicles Searches Based on the Smell of Marijuana Alone

Image
According to reports, on the heels of New York state legalizing cannabis, the city of New York is taking measures to close any loopholes that may undermine the rights granted in the new legislation.  In a memo regarding the sale, possession, and consumption of marijuana by those 21 and older, the NYPD is holding off on performing vehicle searches based on the smell of weed. “Effective immediately, the smell of marijuana alone no longer establishes [a] probable cause of a crime to search a vehicle,” the memo reads. “This change applies to both burnt and unburnt marijuana.” However, an officer may still search the vehicle if the driver appears to be under the influence and “there is probable cause to believe that the vehicle contains evidence of the impairing.”  “However, the trunk may not be searched unless the officer develops separate probable cause to believe the trunk contains evidence of a crime."  The memo also stated that marijuana can be consumed “almost anywher

Amazon reportedly explored opening discount stores to offload unsold electronics

Image
Amazon has been examining the idea of opening discount stores or outlets selling unsold electronics and home goods at steep discounts,  Bloomberg  has reported. The products would reportedly be sourced from inventory in its warehouses, and the company has weighed opening permanent locations and pop-up stores in malls and parking lots. The stock would consist of smaller items that don't take up a lot of space, like home goods, toys, kitchen items and electronics, but not clothing. A  2019 report  detailed how Amazon destroys millions of items it can't sell, ranging from TVs to diapers — though Amazon later  pledged  to donate unsold goods. “It’s a way to be able to clean out warehouses and get through inventory without having to destroy it,” one of  Bloomberg 's sources said. Amazon has reportedly dropped the idea for now because of the pandemic's impact on brick-and-mortar retail, plus it just launched the  Fresh grocery store  chain and wanted to focus on t

A Japanese man was charged $81 for cyberbullying star Hana Kimura before her death

Image
Last year, Hana Kimura, a pro-wrestler and star of the Japanese reality show  Terrace House: Tokyo , reportedly took her life following relentless cyber-bulling. Now a Japanese court has charged an unnamed Osaka man $81 over his abusive messages towards Kimura, the  Washington Post reports . It's rare to see courts come down on cyber-bullying in general, but this particular ruling has struck some of Kimura's fans as particularly lenient. Online trolls are a dime-a-dozen, but in this case, the messages to Kimura included asking her, "When will you die?" What should be the true cost of cyber-bullying, especially when it leads to a potential suicide? In December,  Nikkei Asia reported  that the Osaka man, who admitted to a public insult charge, could be imprisoned for up to 29 days, or up to 10,000 yen (around $90). The final ruling is on the high-end of the potential fine, but doesn't include any jail time. Nikkei notes the troll told police that he want

Microsoft's cloud services are down again, possible DNS issue

Image
Azure problems are affecting the Xbox Network, Office, Bing and other systems. It has only been a couple of weeks since the  last big Microsoft outage , and once again its growing network of cloud-operated service is struggling.  Windows Central  points out an Azure Status tweet indicating problems in the network, and reported they had problems even pulling up Bing. I was able to access some aspects of Xbox Live — excuse me, the Xbox Network — but noticed some features aren't loading right now, and  its status page  reports known issues with signing in for some people. I'd tell you more about what is causing the problem, but it's so widespread that several of the status pages for Azure and Office have been unreachable. The most recent update comes from the Microsoft 365 Twitter account, which reports engineers are investigating a possible DNS issue. Until then, if you're having problems with everything from Teams to Office 365, you may just have to wait.  En

Comcast may pull Universal movies from Netflix to boost its Peacock offering

Image
The battle to gain a foothold in the streaming era has spurred Hollywood studios to go on the defensive. After licencing films and shows to Netflix and Amazon, the likes of Disney and WarnerMedia have  yanked  their  biggest properties  from the competition to boost their own platforms. Not to be left behind, Comcast-owned NBCUniversal is reportedly mulling a similar strategy in a bid to prop up its fledgling streamer,  Peacock , reports  Bloomberg . The media conglomerate currently gets paid hundreds of millions of dollars by HBO Max and Netflix for its Universal Pictures movies and popular animated film slate. But, with only so much room for new streaming services, senior execs are reportedly debating whether to walk away from lucrative rights deals when they expire at the end of the year. The dilemma is part of the larger seismic changes Hollywood is reluctantly undergoing amid shuttered movie houses and fierce competition from  deep-pocketed   streamers , including newe

The $700 G-Squad GSW-H1000 lineup has numerous sensors and a rugged design.   Just as rumors have been floating about a possible  rugged Apple Watch , Casio has unveiled its first  G-Shock rugged smartwatch  using Google's Wear OS platform. The GSW-H1000, part of Casio's rugged G-Squad Pro lineup, has a host of sports features and is also the first G-Shock watch with a color display.  As you'd expect in a G-Shock watch, the GSW-H1000 has a brawny look with a titanium back for extra durability. That's backed by actual toughness, including shock- and water-resistance down to 200 meters of depth. What's new is the Android Wear OS plus the dual-layer display with an always-on LCD screen for time display combined with a color LCD screen that can show maps, notifications, sensor data and other information. That's a first for G-Shock watches, though Casio already uses Wear OS on its  Pro Trek  smartwatch lineup.  The watch is also laden with s

New York State Police Charges 7-Year-Old Boy with Rape

Image
A seven-year-old boy from upstate New York has been charged with rape. The Brasher Falls resident was arrested by state police in connection with an incident that happened on Thanksgiving. Anthony Martone, an attorney from Queens, called the case "absurd." "Instinctually, it shouldn't happen that a seven-year-old - I don't think you even could really realize what you're doing at seven years old," Martone said. "So I think it's absurd to charge a seven-year-old with rape. They'd have to prove he actually physically committed this act, which to me it almost seems to be an impossibility," Martone added that the boy will likely be charged as a juvenile delinquent, but a bill pending in Albany would raise the age threshold for that charge from seven to 12. The boy has been released and will reportedly face his third-degree rape charge in Family Court. Source:  WWNY
