KFC Japan Offering Deep Fried Corn Soup

KFC Japan is taking a cue from those crazy deep fried concession stands you normally find at U.S. state fairs (deep fried twinkies, anyone?), and recently announced it'll begin serving "deep fried corn potage fritters," or fried balls of corn soup, available September 5.

Corn potage is extremely popular in Japan. RocektNews24 calls it "one of the current darlings of the Japanese palate."

So, how exactly do you deep fry soup? A glop of corn potage is covered in batter and then tossed into the deep fryer.
