Woman Dies in Car Wreck Over Facebook Post About "Happy" Song

A Clemmons, North Carolina woman lost her life after posting on Facebook about Pharrell's hit single "Happy."

According to FOX8, Courtney Ann Sanford was posting selfies Thursday morning while driving down the interstate when she crossed the median and crashed head first into a truck.

Friends later discovered that the 32-year-old posted a Facebook status just seconds before she died about the song "Happy." At 8:33 a.m. Sandford posted "The happy song makes me HAPPY!" Friends and family were notified of the crash at 8:34 a.m.

Sanford was wearing a seatbelt, but it wasn't used properly police told reporters.

Lt. Chris Weisner of the High Point Police Department hopes that people will learn to refrain from their phones when driving.

"As sad as it is, it is a grim reminder for everyone," he said. "You just have to pay attention while you are in the car."
