Adrian Peterson Faces Up to Two Years in Jail for Beating Child
A district attorney involved in Adrian Peterson's child abuse case says the player could face serious jail time if convicted of the crime.
According to the Business Insider, the D.A. says that Peterson's actions were possibly done "with criminal negligence or recklessly." He also added during a press conference that a guilty conviction could land the player in jail for up to two years and a $10,000 fine.
Peterson has since been released from jail after posting a $15,000 bond, 30 minutes after turning himself in. It was also announced that he wouldn't play against the Patriots on Sunday.
If the player issues a plea deal in the case, it can begin as early as 2015.
