Pregnant Ferguson Woman Shot by Cops & Loses Her Eye

Shortly after much of the United States was sent into an uproar over the grand jury's decision not to indict Darren Wilson for killing Michael Brown, Ferguson police gave the public another reason to have major issues with the law enforcement.

Chaos erupted at a gas station in the 10000 block of Halls Ferry in the late hours of Tuesday morning, November 25th, which led to pregnant Dornella Conners being shot with a "less lethal" Ferguson police bean bag which sadly stripped her ability to see out of her left eye completely.  Dornella's right eye was badly damaged as well, and she has lost vision in her one remaining eye.

She and her boyfriend De'Angelas Lee, were just driving around in the streets of Ferguson in respects to Mike Brown after learning that Darren Wilson had gotten off completely.  She told News 4 KMOV that they were not looting, rioting, carrying any weapons, or posing any sort of threat to anyone while peacefully driving around in their vehicle.

After pulling up into the gas station, cops arrived at the area because of the chaotic actions of other people also present at the gas station.  Mr. Lee tried to evade the police who Dornella claims were trying to block in their vehicle, which only led to one officer shooting a bean bag at the passenger side of the windshield.  Authorities claim that Mr. Lee was trying to drive his car into theirs and that the officer in the car "feared for his life."  Meanwhile, Dornella claims that her boyfriend was not trying to crash into any police vehicle, and that he made an effort to drive around them and avoid them entirely.

Her father and sister were very upset about what happened, and her father, Donnell Conners, questioned how two innocent people sitting in their car could've posed a threat to anyone.

"I'm very upset, very disappointed with tactics that they used trying to get control of situation," he said. "I understand they have a tough job.  I understand that it was chaos, [but] there was no reason to fire upon an innocent person that was sitting in a vehicle.  How can a pregnant person, sitting in a car, with a seatbelt, be causing chaos?"

Police has since issued a warrant for Mr. Lee's arrest and set a bond for $50,000.  They are suspicious of Lee because gunfire erupted at that gas station.
