Jemele Hill Calls Out Dez Bryant for Not Taking a Stand on Important Issues

Cowboys player Dez Bryant recently said that he would rather get his money from playing football than joining a social justice movement via protesting at his job and lose his income as a result. Since then, a woman who worked at Blaze Pizza tweeted about Bryant coming into her job and tipping $75 to an employee. Despite that, she said she “still hates the Cowboys.” From there, Bryant responded back by jokingly threatening to boycott the franchise.
From there, ESPN’s Jemele Hill chimed in by responding to the story, saying, “But [you] won’t take a stand against.. never mind..” in reference to Bryant’s lack of support for Colin Kaepernick and others who kneel during the National Anthem. Bryant shot back by saying, “She part of the media.. 9-10x she will know the fact.. instead ride the wave.. it’s not that serious.. go boycott your job and tell me about it.”
Hill responded by saying she was joking, but there was some truth behind what she was saying, and also went on to say, “My official position (as I said on the show): Dez is free to not speak out or protest, but don’t undermine those that do.”
