Former Playboy Centerfold Jumps To Her Death With 7-Year-Old Son
On Friday (May 18), former Playboy centerfold Stephanie Adams tragically jumped to her death with her 7-year-old son from the 25th floor of a Manhattan hotel. Adams died amidst a custody battle with the father of the young boy.
Adams reportedly checked into the Gotham Hotel with her son Vincent on Thursday, May 17 at 6 pm, as told by police during a news conference. They fell 23 floors and were found on a second-floor balcony at about 8:15 am Friday morning in the back of the hotel’s courtyard.
New York City Police Department revealed during a press conference that Adams was involved in a heated custody dispute that over the 7-year-old with her estranged husband, a Manhattan chiropractor named Charles Nicolai. They revealed that law enforcement had been called to their home several times in the past few months as the dispute was described as “a very tough custody case,” by Raoul Felder, Adams' former divorce attorney.
“She was never depressed while I knew her. She had certain problems, but depression wasn’t one of them,” Felder said.
Adams was Playboy’s “Miss November” centerfold in back in 1992, and had written more than 25 self-help books, ran an online beauty products company, and often managed the finances in her husband’s office. She appeared again in Playboy in 2003, and worked with Elite Model Management. The accomplished woman also had two business degrees.
