Detroit Man Charged with Murder After Intervening in Couple's Argument
A Detroit man is facing first-degree murder and felony firearm charges after allegedly shooting a man who was arguing with his girlfriend in the MotorCity Casino's parking garage.
Police say they were called to the casino on March 21, at 1:48 A.M., where they saw 25-year-old Kermit McCants suffering multiple gunshot wounds. According to investigators, McCants and his 25-year-old girlfriend were in an argument before 27-year-old Nicholas White intervened.
Police say a verbal exchange between McCants and White escalated before White allegedly pulled out a gun and shot McCants. Medical officials took McCants to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
After shooting McCants, White reportedly fled the scene but was arrested the following Monday. Look above to view video footage of White's arraignment.
