Mixtape and radio DJ legend Kay Slay has passed away after being hospitalized with COVID in early January.

Statement from the family:

"Our hearts are broken by the passing of Keith Grayson, professionally known as DJ Kay Slay. A dominant figure in Hip Hop culture with millions of fans worldwide, DJ Kay Slay will be remembered for his passion and excellence with a legacy that will transcend generations. In memory of DJ Kay Slay, our family wishes to thank all of his friends, fans, and supporters for their prayers and well wishes during this difficult time. We ask that you respect our privacy as we grieve this tragic loss."

Statement from DJ Vlad:

"I've known Kay Slay for 20 years, meeting him shortly after I moved to New York in 2002.  He was someone I always looked up to as a Mixtape DJ and stand-up individual with morals that you rarely see in this world.  He had a pure and undying love of Hip Hop which is very rare in this business.  He never wavered from who he was or what he represented.  The fearlessness he exhibited as "The Drama King" was a major inspiration to me, and it still is. He will be missed worldwide."
