Kevin Samuels' Family Says Imposter Created GoFundMe for His Funeral, Not Taking Money

The family of Kevin Samuels is speaking out in light of a GoFundMe being created to allegedly raise funds for the controversial dating guru's funeral. Samuels passed away on May 5 after complaining of chest pains and collapsing in his apartment. An official cause of death has yet to be revealed, although it's suspected that he suffered a heart attack.

According to TMZ, a source who spoke with Samuels' family and confirmed the GoFundMe page was created by someone not associated with the family. The fundraiser had a goal of $50,000 and was launched by someone named Melanie King.

After raising several hundred dollars, GoFundMe reached out to the Samuels family to offer them the money, which they declined. The money was then returned to the people who donated.
