A former McDonald’s employee is claiming that he was let go from the fast food chain after posting photos of an ice cream machine that contain a large amount of mold. The 18-year-old Louisiana resident posted two photos that showed trays from the ice cream machine that were filled to the top with mold. According to Buzzfeed, the employee said, “I tried to clean the machine after I spilled it, so I pulled [the trays] out from the side. I was completely shocked by what I saw. I thought it would be cleaned regularly.” The employee went on to say that no one on the staff at that location was ever instructed to clean the machines. A security guard in Fairfield, New Jersey was arrested after allegedly stealing $100,000 from an armored truck and cash vault company on his first day on the job. NJ.com reports that the 19-year-old guard, Larry Brooks was arrested as security cameras captured the incident on film. Authorities stated that the Garda employee has been charged with theft after security guards found $85,900 in a vehicle parked in Elizabeth, New Jersey before police officers arrived to the scene. Previously, it was reported that Quincy Jones was owed $30 million by the estate of Michael Jackson. However, that number has changed, as the estate actually owes Jones $9.4 million. Back in March, T-Mobile introduced two features that alert subscribers when an incoming call is most likely from a scammer. With Scam ID, T-Mobile quickly checks the number that a call is from against a list of numbers belonging to known scammers. If there is a match, the screen will read Scam Likely and show the incoming phone number underneath. And with Scam Block, a phone can be set to block such calls even before the message hits the screen. Starting tomorrow, Scam ID and Scam Block will be available for free to MetroPCS subscribers On July 25th, MetroPCS customers will automatically have Scam ID enabled on their handset. Several Verizon subscribers are claiming that Big Red is imposing a speed cap of 10Mbps on video streaming services Netflix and YouTube. To prove that this is indeed happening with Netflix, we copied a test that was published elsewhere on Friday morning. With our Moto Z Force connected to Verizon's network, we ran Ookla's Speedtest app and scored a download speed of 48.22 Mbps on Big Red's 4G LTE network. The next thing we did was run Fast.com. This is actually an app available from the Google Play Store that is offered by Netflix. The app measures download speeds for Netflix only, so in this case it's limited capabilities are just what we wanted. And sure enough, during the test the speed was never much above or below 10Mbps; in fact, at the the end of the test we obtained a data speed of exactly 10Mbps on the nose. News recently broke of actor John Heard passing away at the age of 72. For those who don’t know, one of Heard’s more memorable roles was Peter McCallister, the father in the first two Home Alone movies. According to TMZ, Heard pronounced dead after being found by a maid in his hotel room. The coroner pronounced Heard dead on the scene not too long after police were called to the hotel. The coroner is currently still investigating, and no set cause of death has been set. Heard’s representative told the press that he had a “minor back surgery” this past Wednesday at the Stanford Medical Center in Stanford, California. Fresh Kid Ice, a founding member of influential hip hop group 2 Live Crew, has died in Miami, according to TMZ. Fresh Kid Ice, along with DJ Mr. Mixx and Amazing Vee, formed 2 Live Crew in 1984. Many workers in the United States are fighting for better wages, but it seems as if St. Louis, Missouri is taking a step back in the process. The city has decided to lower the minimum wage requirement for workers, as the city’s murder rate increases. The murder rate may have had a hefty hand in the outcome of wages, as St. Louis was named the murder capital of America earlier this year. The city has the highest murder-per-capita rate, with almost 59 murders per every 100,000 people. According to CNN, a new law passed by Missouri will take precedence over the city’s law, lowering the standard $10 per hour down to $7.70. Previously, in 2015, St. Louis was able to raise the minimum wage to $10 per hour via an ordinance. The ordinance passed by the city would have raised the minimum wage to $11 per hour in January 2018. The new law decreasing the minimum wage is set to go into effect on August 28, 2017. The famed denim brand that became a staple in high-end streetwear culture, True Religion, has filed for bankruptcy and signed a restructuring agreement with its lenders. The company has filed for creditor protection under Chapter 11 in United States bankruptcy court in the District of Delaware. NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant has signed a 2-year $53 million contract with the Warriors. While that may seem like a lot of money for such a contract, it was revealed that Durant is taking a pay cut to help the team stay together in the upcoming season. As the Verge reported earlier, and Pitchfork confirmed by trying to sign up, Tidal users who enrolled after June 26th won't get access to the album. Instead, you'll get a message saying "Jay-Z 4:44 is only accessible to Sprint/Tidal customers and all Tidal accounts established prior to June 26th during the exclusive period." Sprint kindly notes that if you switch to its network, you will get six free months of Tidal and access to 4:44, so there's always that route. The Golden State Warriors have made NBA history by signing Stephen Curry to a massive $201 million deal with no options. The 5-year "Supermax" deal will tie Curry to the Warriors through the 2022 season. Steph is considered by many to be the greatest shooter in NBA history.
